you should do the heel too and leave the copa mundial gold part that would look hot.

Ye, i want to do the heel part, but i dont know how, i took the threads out of the adidas stripes, would i be able to do that with the hell part also?

Here is a pic of both of them, again, poor quality.

Agree 110%. DO NOT take the thread out of the cuff around the achilles, the shoes will fall apart soon thereafter. As Danny said, the white portion holds the foam in.
FWIW, I think they look fine as is. Are they new? If not, I'm surprised that the gold "Copa" is still on the shoe. As I'm sure most old fogie players have, I've owned many pairs, and the gold lettering seems to fade quickly.

Thnx, i really love them all blacked out. Alot of playes i see on the pitch have Copas, and now I will stand out and not have the same boot as them. Nope, they aren't new. Thnx for telling me not to try anything with the heel part.

What i did is i picked the thread our using a small pocket knife, then the stripe detached from the boot excpet for the top and bottom. I then cut the top and bottom with scissors tehn the stripe was off the boot, and i kept cutting the white that was left near the top and bottom until it was basically not visible. The leather underneath the stripes are amazingly soft. Then after i finished every stripe i polished the shoes.

ye thnx thnx, i like them alot, also i do give you credit rooster, after a few pm's i was confident in doing it. Although it did take a while and i got lazy after 3 stripes. I did one shoe one day and the other the next.

Are you blacking out the tounges and the Heel Cuffs, too?

I like the look...how was the leather kept together under the stripes? Were the two large black pieces under the stripes sewn together at the first stripe?

The leather under the stripes is super soft, and great. I dont really understand what you mean by the two large black peices being kept together under the first stripe, but i do know that under the stripe closest to the toe there is thread that has been sewn, if that helps.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Be careful...those stripes may be prone to ripping.

Yea, I'm agree with ADIKeeper. I've tried this once on my copa and after few practice, stiches came off and that was a end of my beloved copa. Shoes are very nice looking with all black but in term of durability, you have few wears left.

I think the (synthetic) stripes prevent the leather from stretching, and also provide support for the sides of the foot, so I am unsure of how you're going to get on with them in the long term.

-I dont want to rain on your parade, but its ok to want to stand out from the crowd, but when you are compromising the integrity of the boot for aesthetic purposes, you have to ask questions of what you think is better, how you look, or how you play?

I dont see why anything would go wrong with them, I have used them around 5 times now blacked out and so far its been perfect, Im pretty sure nothing wrong will happen to them.

socca_playa,
You mind giving a review on the Adidas Copa Mundial boots? Any special features, cutting edge from latest boots? Also, I seen a similar Adidas Classic Soccer boots, World cup. How does it compare against them? I'm contemplating on getting one so any help would be useful. Thanks.

they are the same boot, just copas are moulded studs and world cups are screw in ones ;)
