I have to say that even though I have comprehensive coverage of the Premiership on Fox Soccer Channel, I still miss the old EPL show from Fox Sports Net.

Before Fox Soccer Channel, the EPL show was the shiznit. Lionel Bienvenue and Max Bretos were pretty funny on that show too. To bad he isn't involved with FSC but I guess he is doing alright in Colorado. I remember hearing stories if him doing his sports review and then throwing in some EPL at the end and his co-anchors would have a funny look after he finished.:D

LOL, I actually remember seeing old Lionel when I was in Denver, fall 2003. Funnily enough, he did a piece on the local indoor soccer team...

he does sports for KMGH ABC 7 in Denver and he's the only guy in town that pays the rapids, or soccer in general any mind.

If you go back and rewatch MLS Wrap from 2003 or 2004, you'll see that the backdrop behind Sean and John was the old EPL Show desk.

Can someone explain the line from the article:
The show was so popular that there were six different soccer teams across the U.S. that named themselves after "Bienvenu".

I remember that Lionel did a "funny name" Premiership XI on one show, which included Windass, Nicky Butt, Ugo Ehiogu, and Muzzy Izzet.

I think he's referring to amateur teams. There used to be a mail segment every week where Lionel would read viewer letters. I remember several people had written in to say that they'd named their pub league teams "Bienvenu FC" or "FC Bienvenu."
