Liverpool did something so many people thought couldnt happen and when they face Milan ( probably) in Istanbul they are gonna have to prove everyone wrong once again ,
I have never seen a team play wit so much heart in a long time .
Gerrard, Carragher, Risse, Kewell, Dudek, Hyypia , Luis Garcia, Cisse, and Benitez have shown the world that Heart and determination overcomes money in sports

Lets put up a poll of what the best european teams are at this moment.
Since half this football-noob board mayorly supports Chealsea (the non-history, moneyspending machine full of arrogance "superstars") while they are winning i bet the popularity suddenly drops below zero...!
Football proves itself again, it was a wonderfull night.
Thank you Liverpool!

What an ugly game the blues and the reds played? Anyone agree? Liverpool played hard and ran their hearts out, but the game was sloppy, one by a sloppy goal. The game was full of fouls and ugly shots at goal. Makes me appreciate my arsenal even more when I watch games like these. Of course I am happy the blues lost. Go AC.

Maybe, but it seems pretty doesn't win in Europe right now. Arsenal may be pretty but they are watching from the tv. Who won Euro '05? Greece. Not pretty, but effective.

Last week I started a thread on how dismal the first leg was. Despite the blows a lot of us incurred on each other, we ALL agreed we hoped the second leg was a better affair of football to remember. What a let down then. The only thing I can smile from after this game is that "El Liverpool" are through to the final. Lots of heart, yes! Little football, yes! Sloppy passing, give aways, pin-ball stuff .... and the goal, well, Barcelona fans like myself might take pride in the fact that an ex-Barca player Luis Garcia was credited with scoring... but honestly, did the video replay convince you? I'll take a goal against that arrogant lot called Chelsea, but in fairness to them, nothing in that replay suggested there was a goal scored. Did the whole of the ball cross? Half? I honestly think the Slovak linesman wanted to call a goal so that he could eliminate any possibility of the game being an extended 120 minutes of this type of football we saw on display in the much anticipated 2nd leg.
Thank God Anfield has much better support and atmosphere than that cafe atmosphere like stadium known as Stamford Bridge. I thought it was funny while the Kop and Anfield sang "Walk On," the away section was pathetically trying to chant "we are the champions!" Like little boys trying to assert something they've done worthy of recognition... and to do it in the face of a mighty tradition like that, pure comedy.. If Liverpool play defense the way they did in the last two legs in Istanbul, they've got a shot...but their goalscoring prowess better pick it up..oh! and they could try to thread passes better.

Well done Liverpool.
Jamie Carragher, John Arne Risse and Luis Garcia have almost by themselves brought Liverpool to the CL final. They've been brilliant.

The controversial goal call meant next to nothing. The referee decided to play the advantage, but he still could have called a PK (and caution) against Peter Cech for upending Baros, even after waiting to see if the ball crossed the line. Ugly game, but Liverpool earned it.
And how about Mourinho's take on the game:
"The best team lost. One team played and the other defended and the best team lost."
Too bad Mourinho still has no class. He could have done wonders for Chelsea's poor rep by saying something complimentary about Liverpool. It's no wonder 90% of neutral fans were siding with Liverpool. With the poor sportsmanship exhibited by the coach and the over-the-top spending, Chelsea just doesn't impress the average blue-collar working fan.

The Kop won it at Anfield.
And the travelling Kop will take over Istanbul and win it there too.
We have more and better fans than AC Milan/PSV.

that atmosphere at Anfield was simply amazing , the crowd was really a 12th man during the game , During the second leg you could feel the electricity from the fans but during the first leg at times it sounded as if they were playing in a half empty MLS stadium

Congratulations to Liverpool.
I'm a Barcelona Fan and it seems like Karma came back and bit Chelsea in the ASS today as Luis Garcia (former Barcelona player) notched the game winner.
I heard that Mourinho stated that "the best team lost". It's that kind of attitude that makes most people Loathe Mourinho.
Although I do believe that AC Milan will win it all in Istanbul.

Do I dare to dream, even now?
