I've been out of the loop for a while in Iraq so I don't know if a thread has already discussed this and if it has, I apologise. But...I couldn't help but wonder, after speculation that Gerrard could end up at Chelsea with Cole, Lampard, Terry etc... if he does end up there what that will do for the English National Team. 3 out of 4 possible starting mids playing club ball together. And dare I say, Beckham wanting to possibly come back to the EPL...would Mourinho sign him as well? Surely this would mean good things for the Lions.

I think its evident Rio will stay at United so the Central Defence duo is out (excluding the Sol Campbell option) and A. Cole will stay at Higbury but I was just curious what others thought about this midfield scenario. Possible? Has anything like this happened before?

It was never the strongest line-up, but there have been previous England midfields made up of Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and David Beckham whilst all three were at United.

And of course, the England defence of the early 90s was the Arsenal defence.

I can't see Stevie going to Chelski if Poo win the CL, but Mikey could, he's the sort of striker they need.

Poshboy could be he on his way to the Arse?

But unless you've got a majority of players from the same side, I don't think it's any great advantage to the National team and of course, JT and JC aren't certain starters, if you believe what the people on here say...
