Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has revealed that both he and team-mate John Terry require minor foot surgery.


They wont be on tour even if Chelsea dont reach the final of the champions league.
Im expecting a load of other players to mysteriously get injured just prior to the tour.

This could actually be the best thing to happen. It will force Erikson to play the fringe players (the Downings, Wright Philips etc) who he would not normally give a full game to. It will also give a lot of the younger players the experience of being away for a reasonable period as pert of the England squad.

SWP wont be there either.
A nice blend of seniors and new players would be good .We dont want to see an entire squad of rookies .That would just be a waste.

That doesn't seem certain yet. Stuart Pearce doesn't want SWP to go, but did add that:

SWP is a player with good attitude, he said he'll be there if he is chosen, he is not a cry baby like others. By the way, coming to US is going to be like a vacation because the press & majority of people don't even know who they are so, there'll be a lot of rest for them.

If they need the toe operations they should have it done NOW.
Now that they're out of the CL and have the league in the bag they might as well go in for the ops after the weekends championship ceremony.
Now we're hearing Terry saying "ooohh I want to soldier on to the end of the season" .

Lets hope we dont get too many players getting mysteriously injured between now and the end of the year .However I fully expect Rooney and ferdinand to get "injured" at some point in the next 2 weeks which rules them out of the tour.

very disappointing that our friendly games are constantly sabotaged by the greed of the club managers.

only 3 days ago rio talked to the press about his enthusiasm for the tour.
Now he is suddenly gonna be "resting a knee injury".
