Legion 04/V-Army On-Tour

July 16th. This could be a potential trip date.

I spoke with Mike, inside of V-Army after last night's game with Chicago. He expressed interest in going to Chicago for the game at Soldier Field. I know that Legion could muster possibly 10 people for the trip, maybe more. I know that this date is a far way off, but if we want to be successful, it's important to get on this early.

OSU students, as well as high school students are obviously on break during this time, so it would be easy for us to get up there. If we do this right, we could have maybe 40 people going up to Chicago.

I don't know if anyone saw "Section 8 On-Tour" last night, but we can do better than that going to Chicago. If we can get good numbers, who knows what we can do? Streamers, balloons........jersey flag? It's a stretch, but it certainly is possible if we plan this now.

I thought DC was the trip we were talking about. Oh and just to let ya know, the reason they only had a few fans there was because they're all coming the next time the F!re come into CCS.

Erin, Andrew, and I are most likely going to go to the match @Chicago in July. We'll work on finding a hotel, and then pass the info. along on the board so people know where to stay with other Crew fans.

Let's talk to the Crew FO about getting tickets together in a designated section of Soldier Field.

I emailed Ryan Smith asking for a designated section to be reserved for Crew fans. He then forwarded my email to Scott DeBolt and some in the ticket office. Still waiting for a reply...will post here when updated.

I have heard rumors about Crew Union (remember them??) planning a road trip to Metros. Apparently it's open to everyone, CU members (if they ARE any) get a discount.

All i'm asking in return is that the messenger not be shot. I have heard nothing about any other road trips.

I have been in contact with Ryan Smith over at the Crew front office about a trip to Chicago. I asked for Crew to fund a bus for us; he replied saying that Crew Union was thinking of doing this. Haven't heard anything since then.

My proposal was for Crew to fund the bus, and then for V-Army to sell match tickets to any and all Crew fans in a designated section. So, basically, it'd be a "Crew fan" trip, not just limited to northenders. This could also help bridge the gap between all the supporters. Everyone could bring their own tailgate gear so we could have one massive pregame event in the parking lot at Soldier Field. I envision it being a 24-hr. trip, departing CBus at approx. 7am on matchday. Game is at 4pm. Depart Chicago no later than 10pm (after post-game restaurant/bar event).
