1)Casillas (By far the better Keeper this year)
2)Buffon (Has been good but not his usual number 1 self)
3)Barthez (Player of the year for Marseille so far)
4)Frey (Highly underrated and on a poor team)
5)Coupet (On a great team but has seen lots of action. Was hurt this year)
6)Howard (Best Keeper in EPL last season, this season Fergi made him look worse off then he really was.)
7)Kahn (Starting to lose his form but still one of the best in the world)
8)Hildebrand (Needs to switch teams and league to show his real class)
9)Czech (Has not "proven" to be the best keeper! He had the lowest amount of Goals conceded but he also had the lowest shots on goal, and lowest attempts on goal then any other keeper in all of Europe!)
10)Keller (A resurrected Keller has been the star for his new team in Germany and the USA. Is single handedly keeping Borussia M'gladbach out of relegation)
11)Roberto Carlos Abbondanzieri (Boca are off to a rough start, but this guy is solid)
12)Dida (I thought Marco was better than him but after watching him a bit more, he's moved up in my books. But with a D like he has in Milan, not proven enough to crack my top 10

It's a bit premature to rate Cech as the world's best
keeper; let him play at the same level for a few seasons
first. Casillas is strong and has become one of Madrid's
most reliable players. I rate these two as being first-
class but not yet the very best.

That honor goes to Buffon . . . Getting the ball past
this man is a real feat. Number 2 for me is the often
under-rated Dida, who I think is particularly strong in
PK shoot-outs. Goal-keeping experts, and legends, like
Jol Bats and Dino Zoff, actually class Buffon with the
greats: Yashin, Kahn (in his prime), Zamora, etc.

yes i agree but casillas is world class he broke into the madrid first team at the age of 18 and hasn't been dropped since how can you say he isn't world class

Oh no, I don't mean Casillas isn't world-class. I say he's first-rate
and first-class, I only mean he's a notch below Buffon, which is
no disgrace. What I have to admire in Casillas is his reflexes,
"cat-like," as they say.

I've watched plenty of AC matches this season as well as Brazil. He just isn't there for me. As I said, he has moved up in my books. I'm a Brazil fan. I've seen them play in the past 2 WC and the 2003 Confed Cup in France. He just isn't there yet.
He reminds me of Zach Thorten but far better. His size is the only thing that keeps him in the top. He's not that quick as far as keepers go. I would know as I am a former keeper and coach. Don't get me wrong, he is quick but top 10 quick, no. He also has a very poor dispatch of the ball. He can't kick very well or consistanly.

As far a PK's go, Yes, he guesses better than anyone else. He has proven this but it doesn't mean he is one of the top keepers in the world.

One I forgot to mention was Gomez of PSV. He has stuck out this year as being a top 10 keeper. I think will see him in a few more Brazil matches hopefully. Then again, Marco is having a comeback year..... :+)

Kahn starting to lose his form? If anything he regained his form...he has been simply superb this season. Absolute class all around. Number one again.

Cech is the best at the moment imo
