You mean Stephen "Mad Skills/Possible Attitude Problem" Armstrong?

I liked him a lot as a player but something was amiss with him and Country Bob. He was better than Quill and Burciaga at the time on the left back or mid. Burciaga's better now but he'd give Jack or Sasha a run for their money at left mid if his whole sports hernia thing cleared up. Of course I'm judging by the last time I saw him in a Wizards uniform.... he could look like Shavar now after a 15 months away. Had an unorthadox way about him that could burn even the best of em from time to time.

His Hattrick description would look something like this:
Stephan Armstrong
TSI = 80 , 26 years, solid (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skillshort&ll=7#skillshort) form
Has wretched (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skill&ll=2#skill) experience and poor (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skillshort&ll=3#skillshort) leadership abilities [Unpredictable]

Stamina: weak (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skill&ll=5#skill) Keeper: disastrous (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skill&ll=1#skill)Playmaking: formidable (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skill&ll=4#skill) Passing: passable (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skill&ll=2#skill)Winger: passable (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skill&ll=4#skill) Defending: inadequate (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skill&ll=4#skill)Scoring: solid (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skill&ll=1#skill) Set Pieces: disastrous (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skill&ll=1#skill)

I never thought his attitude was the issue, just that he would often disappear from matches from long stretches of time. He was also capable of brilliance. There is a problem with attacking depth, especially considering Sealy is likely to be called in by Trinidad. Not saying Armstrong is the answer, but its not as if we're stacked with SI's.

If he has recovered from his injuries he'd be a welcome addition to the squad.

It's not like we're loaded with lefties anyway.

Plus, if he does sign, then we'd only need to sign a Russian to make Jace's flag up to date again. :)

I love Stephen Armstrong!! That would be really great for the team if he came back. I really never understood why they let him go, and for who? Vuk? Bring Stephen back!!!

Stephen was always a fav. of mine. I think a main problem that he had here in KC is the same he had in DC, they played him in an unnatural possision. I think if he is finally recovered from his injuries (he tore both ACL's, right? One right after the other? I forget exactly) and has decent form, he'd be a good signing again.

He's been working with Doug Edwards while he rehabs an injury. Edwards worked with Klein, too. Armstrong was at practice Thursday as well.

Doug worked with another top-class soccer player from the area. And thanks to him and Mark, I'm getting closer and closer to the five second mark!

I hear Jager helps out a bunch for people who have the same problem.

Positive - Butler University product.

Negative - Fooled around with an ex girlfriend of mine.

Still, I loved watching that guy play, I hope he makes it back into the league.

This is cool

I was a fan of Armstrong when he was with DC, also

So who does he replace on the roster?

He may just be working out with the team. Remeber that he ended last year hurt, and he may just be getting back to fitness before trying to catch on with another MLS or USL team.

If we were to sign him though, who's roster spot do you think he would take?

Whoever has the worst hair style should be dumped from the squad ....

(Andy, surely you have a photo of that awful "do" to share) :D
