I'm here so I'll start it.
I got York to the Premiership. Next up Europe!

Fantastic work!
What version was this?
As an aside, has SI confirmed a release date for CM4 yet? The pile of drool that has been forming is up to my ankles . . .

Still got Hayes in the Premiership.
Not too much of a surprise as I haven't picked it up for a few weeks.

I am equally proud of getting Darlington from 19th in conference to D2, and winning Europe with each of 3 totally different generations of players at Liverpool.
*sigh*
Didn't buy last year's version, I'm still on 00/01. I haven't touched it in like 2 months now. I thought it would be a good idea to wait for CM4 . . . kind of like holding out for your wedding night. I am starting to get the shakes now, though . . .

Working wonders at Nott'm Forest.
They've got a decent crop, and if u can wait a few months with no money at all, and manage to hold on to either Jenas or Prutton, it goes good.

I miss the old thread already. I decided that I would teach Lazio's irriducible a lesson and run their club into the ground. I sold their stars and overspent on crappy players. I thought I had performed a coup when the board let me buy Frankie Hejduk for $10 million dollars. Frankie repays my lack of faith in him by scoring 4 goals and 2 assists in his first 2 games, one against Roma and one against Juve. Bastard.

Halifax Town to Div. 1 and maybe into Europe if I can beat the Div 1 side Derby C. in the League Cup Final.
To maderia is god!

That is one challenge (quite bizarrely) I've yet to try in CM. And that is in the almost five years I've been playing now.

I actually have money to buy this season. About 4 million after getting the 12 mill from the league for tv rights.
My big question is, should I now completely change everything. Up to now I have just been tweaking the formation. It really took off for me in my 1 division runner up season. Should I continue that, or change formations altogether?

I downloaded the super league patch from their website the other week and its brilliant!
It replaces the entire Italian League structure with the best teams from around the world, I had a go with celtic in Serie A but Im now playing as Aberdeen in Serie C/1A or one of them lower ones.
Top stuff!
The drawback is it lessens the quality of european competitions if you are actually good enough to qualify for one, and its pretty worthless loading other leagues as its just the dross and the lesser italian clubs in them.

I took Boston from the Conference to the EPL, athough I got relegated the next season.
My best was taking Brentford to the EPL, finishing 3rd an dgoing all the way to the semifinals of the champions League.
I am Currently taking Bradford from d2 to d1. I finished with 111 points and won the league cup.

Question about the game: can you see the game being played or is it text-based?

My current game, I've moved all 50 US teams into Belgium. MLS I moved to Belgium 2nd, along with 6 A-League teams. The rest of the A-League, as well as the D3 teams I put in the 2 Belgian 3rd.
I'm currently managing Indiana, and we had an average season in our 1st go, finishing 7th of 16 in the Belgian 3rd, Group A. San Jose and Chicago got promoted from the 2nd to 1st division, and I'm curious how those 2 teams will fare.
I also made the US an EU country, and in order to do the swap, I had to move 50 Belgian teams over to the US. The 2nd season's UEFA and Champs League qualifiers are taking place, and I noticed that Vitron (a Belgian team I moved to the US) is competing in the Champs League qualifyers. Strange. I made the US an EU country so I didn't have to change the nationalities on all the players on the 100 total teams I swapped.
Maybe the US will be in Euro 2004?

It's text-based, though I read somewhere that CM4 is going to have some sort of 2D in-match graphics.

Elwood, or anyone else, would you mind explaining exactly how you did that? Did you use the game editor? I've been trying to move my Revs into the English Conference, I'd like to see how far I could take them there.
With the editor I go to the Conference clubs, select Dover and swap them with New England. The game loads fine with New England now in the Conference and Dover now in the MLS, only thing is New England is the only Conference team that isn't playable, am I doing something wrong? If anyone has a suggestion that might help me I'd be much appreciative. Thanks.

Limey,
there is a patch you can download at the many CM sites on the web called 'team swap'. This is the only way I've found to switch leagues for a club AND manage them.
Good Luck!

Limey,
If you have the 01/02 version, there's an editor that comes with it. If you're playing an older CM version, I don't really know.
You have to swap teams, so, for example, to move the Revs to England, you need to swap them with an English team. After that, you need to either go in and adjust the nationalities of the rosters to match the new country, or you can take the easy way out and make the US an EU nation.
I've done it one other time, when I put the Fire into the French lowest level. Talk about EASY! I do think the MLS teams are a bit over-skilled, compared to real life, but not that much. And it's very cool to play a US team in Europe (though Indiana is TERRIBLE).

How can I find a copy of this game? Someone told me I could buy it from the usisl web site, but that site will not work, and the sigames site is a little confusing to a newbie like myself, with the different years and patches. I was horribly addicted to One-Nil years ago and would love to find a similar game.
Thanks!

My sister got mine for me last Christmas, so I'm not 100% sure. I think she and her husband ordered it from someone one eBay, too.
I know that CM 4 is due out soonish (November?), so you might wait til that comes out. I think there's a demo of CM 01/02 on sigames for download somewhere, and it stops either at the end of one season or at the end of 2001. If you have a fast connection, maybe try that?
Or go to a British-based gaming store and order it online. Lemme see if I have some links.
Well, the demo is 12.2 mb. If that's not too big, download that (http://www.sigames.com/downloads_view.php?id=234) It lasts for 6 game months.

Amazon.co.uk says they can't deliver it to the US.
I know there's a few other sites out there, but I can't seem to find any British online game stores for some reason. Maybe someone else can help? All my links are dead.
