Visit http://www.sigames.com/faceinthegame/ to be one of the regenerated players or staff in the FM 2005 database. When a player retires the game goes to a database to get new names. Get yours in there before September 30th, 2004.
You will need a 95x95 pixel jpg headshot image to post with your name.

I was amused by the legalese, esp. term #6:
acknowledge and agree that my inclusion in the Game and my name and likeness and photograph may be advertised and used in the exploitation of the Game at throughout all the countries of the world forever;
I'm imagining super-intelligent life landing on earth from galaxies beyond our comprehension centuries in the future, and having them come across a billboard for the game with my face in the ad.

So this means that there'll be pictures of players and staff in the new game? And how come if you're over 22 you only get to be a staff person? Will the picture stay the same, or will there be some cool morphing that ages the pictures?

*sigh* I'm in a predicament... I've signed billions of great players with me £30 million transfer budget, but they all expect first team footy. My greatest captures so far are Ronaldinho, Alex and Kaka.

So go ahead and tell them they're "important first team players" and rotate them as necessary. Starting them in most of your league matches and any later round cup ties should be enough to keep them satiated.

Meh, I have to sell Ronaldinho. Thanks for your advice. He's just become too unhappy and he's been ridiculously bad since I signed him. Oh well, his replacement is the one and only.... Van der Meyde!

Yeah, urm.... what do you do if your star striker feels he has no support from you?

Whenever I've had somebody feel that, it's usually because I don't have any support for him, and it doesn't really matter because he's not a regular first-teamer anyway. But I've had Giggs start whining like that, but eventually I was approached and asked about first team football, which I promised to him and he got. He was upset that he wasn't playing after being at like 54% because of a bad injury that he just got over!
If the guy's still playing and doing well, you could try to release a positive media story, and see if that does anything.

Sometimes there is nothing you can do about this. Play him in as many matches as his fitness can handle. As Anteaters FC said release a positive news story about him, if he is playing well. If he is sucking it up this might backfire on you. You can also consider offering him a new contract.

You should certainly consider this. I had problems with a great young AMC, who while not playing every game, was certainly in the first team more often than not. I praised him, increased his playing time, and changed his training with no effect. I finally realized that I never improved his salary after he jumped from the youth to reserve to first team in a little over a year. He was making the least amount of money yet scoring and assisting as much as my highest paid strikers and wingers. Once the contract was sorted, he was happy and went on to score and create many more goals before getting sold for 20+m the following summer.

He won't accept a new contract. He doesn't believe I have the resources.
And I don't appear to have the option of releasing a good story about him. It's not on my actions menu.

What version are you playing? Are you in the start of the season? Where do you have him ranked as a player on your squad? Ex, if he is listed as a promising youth but starts all of your 1st team games, he will get pissed. Put him as an important player and then see how he feels.

The SI games site had the FM 05 demo up and downloadable for a week and I missed it. Does anyone know where else to get the demo?

CM4. In October, 2005. And he isn't a promising youth. He's an important first team player. I only signed him in the summer but he's formed a good partnership with Daniel Nardiello.
Bloody Julius Aghahowa...

I have a player to get if you are starting a new game. I bought Cherno Samba as a 17 year old from Milwall in my first season in charge of Sunderland. Now in his fifth season with the club, Samba has developed into the leading scorer in the EPL, motoring Sunderland to the top of the league and a transfer fee of $16.25 million.
