Yay! I got Crystal Palace promoted to the Premiership. If you're in Division 1, I have a tip. Loan Daniel Nardiello from Man United. He scored exactly 30 goals in 34 appearances for me, and single-handedly got me through the play-offs after finishing 6th. Also, sign Paul McVeigh from Norwich. He got 21 in 25 appearances.

And meh, I really want to play the full version of Championship Manager 01/02, but it's not in the shops anymore. Anybody know a place to download it?

Hello everybody

Yesterday i've won the UEFA cup and the Belgian Cup with Anderlecht, so it was a wonderful season for me but when i've saved it something went wrong and i've get now temp_save_file.sav in stead of the name i gave to the session. And when i want to load this it doesn't work. Is there someone who know how i can solve this so i can move on with my session where i was ended otherwise i had to start all over again.

Many thanks Olivier

Sorry but I don't have any info to help you recover the game. I've seen tons of posts on CM sites that match yours and haven't heard of anyone fixing it.

That is why I always save my game into a new file every month or so in CM time. That way if this bug occurs you only lose that period and don't have to start all over. I know the save file is huge but I just keep the last 3 or 4 around and delete old ones on a rolling basis as it becomes clear that no bug exists.

Meh, something like that happened with my copy of Championship Manager 99/00. I'd somehow got Man United relegated but signed this guy who scored 50 goals in 40 appearances. Can't remember his name though. Anyway, I had just been appointed coach of Wales too. But every time I loaded it it would crash. I don't have 99/00 anymore...

And I'm still searching for that free download of 01/02.

I have seen a site where there are free Champ Man downloads. However, it might have been older versions than 01/02. Can't remember where it was. I looked a little and didn't find them. Check the boards at CM fan sites, like the dugout or somewhere similar.

Hmm.. I really just want a text one. After a while, to just have text instead of waiting for five minutes every time you press continue, ah, tis a pleasant change.

Yeah, in many ways CM 98/99 is still my favorite.

I don't know about downloading it, but here's a place where you can buy 01/02:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005N5GB/qid=1094674954/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/026-1206101-3527669

I may have asked this before, but does anyone else prefer managing national teams over club teams? I think I'm becoming the Bora Milutinovic of this particular CM universe.

Having taken China and Thailand to the World Cup for the first time, my latest endeavor is to get India to the big show. So far so good ... our qualifying group has Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Lebanon and Turkmenistan in it and we've yet to lose. We're in first place after winning 2-0 in Beirut, 3-0 home to Turkmenistan and 2-1 home to Thailand in addition to a 0-0 draw in Riyadh.

Harpal Singh has been brilliant, scoring a hat trick in his international debut, and Chandan Das has been invaluable in midfield.

This is (most definitely) been asked before i'm sure.
But, bear with me please - i have my page count set to 40 posts and there's 46 pages in this thread - too many to look through.

I have never played this game before - i want to buy it (latest edition or whichever one is considered the best) and i live in the US.

How do i go about it?

Tnx.

The best thing to do is wait until the next version comes out this winter. It will be released in the US under the name MLS Manager. Word on the street is that it will be the same database and program as Football Manager in the UK. If you'll die without a copy before that you can find copies of CM 03/04 all over the Internet. Ebay might be one of the safest options, but you run the risk of getting a pirated Asian copy. I have also ordered from various UK websites, but you'll want to check if they ship to the US. They will take Visa and do the dollars/pounds conversion for you. You can also check out www.sigames.com for any featured retailers.

You might want to wait until Football Manager 2005 comes out around Christmas. It will be the newest version.

Actually, I'm not 100% sure it'll be called MLS Manager 2005 when it comes to the US. A press release by SEGA earlier mentioned a game called Worldwide Soccer Manager which I assume is what Football Manager 2005 will be in the US. However, you could always order Football Manager from the UK over the Internet. On PC, there is no region protection.

Any suggestions on where to order from? I've tried a couple but they either don't accept the credit card or like amazon uk won't ship the US.

gracias.

Try Gameplay. They are a reliable UK firm.

And I personally wouldn't wait. If you have a Fry's near you, check it out because they've carried CM titles in the past. Make sure you get CM4 03/04 rather than CM4 which was a smelly turd. It'll wet your appetite for FM 2005.

www.gameplay.co.uk Is for Gameplay

www.gogamer.com is a Canada-based Seller and as such they may deliver faster than Gameplay

I believe I bought CM 3 from Gameplay. Good service and they don't rip you off on the shipping, I don't think.

They don't its just that, its a bit expensive and its not as fast as you'd like. I believe getting something from Gameplay, the quickest it arrived was 8 days. or 6 Business Days for Champ Man 03/04 and then PES 3.
