Giddy up! When does it go on sale?
Hopefully whne it's ready.
I'm interested in this new version, although still enjoying my game of CM00/01.
Hopefully with the reorganisation of the pyramid here, we'll get to see elvel six included before too long, although I suspect not this version.

Just got 03/04. Haven't slept much. Took Torquay to the third division tiltle in my first season but have since lost out in the playoffs for promotion to the 1st division. Time to move on.
Getting ready to start a new game. Question: What is the difference between selecting a league in full detail as opposed to background?
Also: I've got a 2.8 gig processor and 500 or so meg of ram. How many leagues would you try loading if you were me?

Taken from www.cmgamer.com
Don't run all leagues in full detail
Something that confuses some people at the start of a new game is the option to run a league in 'full detail'. All this means is that you want the league to be your primary (or main) league, and the game should run it in the foreground. You should only run the league you wish to manage in using full detail. Any other leagues you have selected should have this option disabled, instructing the game to run them in the background. Again this will improve the speed of CM4, as less processing will be required.
Only run the recommended number of leagues
When you go to start a new game, CM4 automatically calculates the number of leagues you can realistically run on your system. It does this by examining the speed of your processor and the amount of RAM you have. This feature of the game advises you on how many leagues you can run at the game's intended speed, and by sticking to the recommended number of leagues (or anything below) you'll notice improved speed and performance (as there won't be as many matches for CM4 to process).

The Recommended Option actually ASSUMES you want to run in FULL-DETAIL. What would help is closing open programs and ending idle processes, then Starting CM and doing the Recommended Option.
Also, the size of the database matters alot.

Ok, had the game for a couple of weeks now. Seems to me it's cheaper than heroin, but is just as effective in ruining your life!
I'm currently in middle of my second season with AZ in the Dutch league. Who knew fighting for mid-table glory could be so much fun . . . actually, I'm hopeful of qualifying for Europe this season.
Enough about that, here's my question: I have a small stadium that I regularly fill to over 98%, but the board won't expand because there's no money. Obviously cost cutting is an important issue. How big of a staff do I really need? Do I NEED two assistant managers and a handfull of coaches? Do I need more than a couple of physios? More than a scout or two?
Another question: The Dutch league is loads of fun, but I'm not as familiar with the players, and therefore am not sure I'm pronouncing the names correctly as I yell at my screen during a match. Can anyone give me a phonetic spelling for my star belgian forward Huysegems?

You don't need two assistant managers. You want to have a couple coaches to make sure there is someone for your goalkeepers and outfield players. You need at least one scout to go out and evaluate players. You also want at least one phisyo to make sure people are healing. In the lower leagues you can probably get by with one physio and one scout and three coaches. Only have one assistant.
Since you playing in the lower league in Holland you probably want to try and sell players to make the cash you need.

I have so far never been able to persuade my board to expand the stadium before I've made one or two fairly successfull rounds in Europe. And made a load of money. I don't think cutting down on staff is meaningfull - it won't generate the necessary amounts of money anyhow. As long as the board ain't complaining I don't see any point in keeping expenses low.

Expanding stadium is not that helpful at least not for me. I took over Liverpool a few years into the game and got an expansion. But unless i play manu arsenal and everton my seats are never full.
Oh my game ends in 2017, program error....any patches to fix it? Or is it a sign from them to tell me to stop and buy the next one....lol

I think the latter. The wait is nigh unbearable.

Can anyone else attest to the efficacy of a program called CM Scout?
It drives me up a wall about this game though - I get higher and higher Transfer funds, when what I really want is a higher wage bill. (Understand, I am playing Yeovil on CM4 and am currently about to take them from Conference to D2) because I can get good enough players on frees. In fact any expensive player is going to refuse to come to such a lower level club.

I was a problem I faced at that level too, but that's all part of the game's realism. Let me reassure you if you carry on with Yeovil, that it doesn't necessarily get better in that area, just different.
I dragged QPR up to the highest of highs yet I could never offer any more than roughly about the £35k mark. All the big players (whoever that was in the 2013 season) wanted far more than that, and even the players that I'd nurtured (usually the foreigners) from the age of 20 or so eventually wanted more than the board would let me give them - and I was well under the salary budget too! Seemingly the board wanted me to have an entire squad on £25k a week rather than two or three stars on £60k+ a week.
End result was that I had shed loads of money for transfers, and shed loads of money for wages - but couldn't actually spend them on the players I actually wanted.

I had 97/98 for ages, and I played as Arsenal with that and played for about 20 seasons. I won the Premiership every single time, and I won the Champions League most times too. Playing as the top flight clubs is always easy because you can buy all the best players so easily. What annoyed me with 97/98 though is that you could never offer over £50,000 per week even with the best clubs with richest finances, and players wanted like £70,000 which was impossible to give them. And I once managed to get over a billion pounds on that game, and my finances went into negative because it was too much for the game to deal with. :( That made me reset, and then I used to just keep buying the most expensive players for ridiculous fees and releasing them on frees just to stop me getting too much money in the end. Crazy.
Well I'm playing 03/04 now as Luton, and I gor them from D2 to the premiership in two seasons through the playoffs both times, which I'm very proud of especially considering every 1-0 win in division 1 was considered an excellent result... and now I've survived two years in the Premiership finishing mid-table both times which isn't too bad at all, especially considering I'm favourites to finish bottom every year. :p

Hello everybody
Yesterday i've won the UEFA cup and the Belgian Cup with Anderlecht, so it was a wonderful season for me but when i've saved it something went wrong and i've get now temp_save_file.sav in stead of the name i gave to the session. And when i want to load this it doesn't work. Is there someone who know how i can solve this so i can move on with my session where i was ended otherwise i had to start all over again.
Many thanks Olivier
