Has anybody gotten 10 or more years into CM 03/04? The reason I ask is because all the regenerated players in the game have funky names. In Italy you get names like this: Ya Chi Pastorelli, Kak Hun Baggio, Peter Tu Stellini, etc. And in England: Chi Yak Hunt, Jones, Benjamin Chun Figi, etc. All the names are like that. Anybody else have this?

There are a lot of good players you can get on loan if you look well. Here's some good examples of high-profile players you might get on loan at the beginning of the game for a small club potentially.
Florent Sinama-Pongolle/Anthony La Tellec (Liverpool)
Kleber (Corinthians B of Brazil)
Borut Semler/ Bastian Schweinsteiger (FC Bayern Munich)
Hamit/ Halil Altintop (FC Kaiserslautern/ FC Schalke)
Kieron Richardson/Ricardo (Manchester United)
Andy Moogan (Everton)
Maarten Stekelenberg (Ajax, GK)
Mikael Forsell (Chelsea, but you have to wait until he's done at Birmingham)
Trond Fredrik Ludvigsen (Hertha BSC Berlin)
There's more to this, feel free to add on.
I got Choutos from Olympiakados or however its spelled. He's pretty good.

I've been playing CM since 1998 and somehow in a new game I just for the first time messed with player positions during corner kicks. For those who never have, you can get great results. I'm playing with Barca and have signed Sol Campbell. He and Kluivert are both powerfull headers and jumpers. So I have instructed them to challenge the goalkeeper. I also have set both the right and left sided corners to go either near or far post. Whoever is taking the corner will flight a ball into the box and odds are one of those two will put a nice shot on goal. Last season Kluivert had similar instructions and was the only one challenging the GK and he had 39 goals, maybe 10 off corners. He only had that instruction half the season since I just discovered this. This season we are 8 games in and he has 8 goals.
I'm not saying this is the end all be all solution for winning in CM. But if you have two guys challenging the keeper, the keeper is going to have a tough time keeping the goals out. Their defenses do not know who to mark on corners. I love it!

Yes I noticed this Tactic, what version are u playing now? As the scoring from corners was tuned down in CM 03/04. I've only played CM4 and then 03/04 and I discovered that one also.

Right click on a player (or else click into his attributes) and the 'exchange player' option will come up. Teams never seem to go for it, though.

Not all the time. I've had my fair share of exchanges. The best exchange I was ever offered I actually rejected. ManU offered me RVN and $100M for Sheva. I was shocked. I couldn't believe ManU would offer that much. But there was no way I was selling Sheva for any price :)

I found a Gold Mine! If you go to River Plate's reserves, theres a bunch of players that are good that don't get paid a lot, and are listed for transfer...

I've got Barca with 63 points after 23 games in 2003/2004. The next closest team on the table, Celta with 43 points. I've only lost twice in the league this season. Might be my best league season ever. We'll see, I've got 15 games left. My biggest additions to the team are Simao and Sol Campbell. I paid a large amount for Campbell but he's led my defense, only conceding 19 goals in the league so far.

Is anyone still playing CM0102? Unlike CM2/CM0304, CM0102 IS going fast.
I'm busy with two games, with Barnet and Ajax.
With Barnet I'm in my 2nd season. I'm topping the English 3rd division table after winning the Conference the year before. I've got a young team, full of potential.
And my Ajax game I'm playing by the famous challenge-rules where you can only play/buy players from the country you playing in. My current team still in the first season is:
Stekelenburg; Mendes da Silva, Heitinga; Zonneveld, Van der Doelen, De Jong; Van der Vaart, Sneijder, Knopper/Petta; Hersi, Hasselbaink.
With players like Boschker, Bakens, Sikora, Deamen and Babel at the bench.

That is really hard and I've gotten close to it once. I usually play with a big team, get bored and then move back to a small team. It goes in phases. :)

Not me. I've built Tranmere up from a mid-table 2nd division team to the best in the world in 6 years (I'm now in year 8), with the best players & facilities in the world, and a 40,000 undersoil heated stadium. I have spent quite a small amount in doing this, and have abotu 230mn in the bank.

Does the database size make a big difference when you're playing in the lower leagues? Are you only playing the english leagues or do you have some other leagues running too?

It just alters how many players are active within the game, so what he said is actually true as you will have more worldwide players to chose from should you use a large database (and more of those loverly regens)

I would defintely see how being an LLM would make using a Large Database very important. Also, Small/Medium Database causes more retired players to become coaches, at a much higher rate.

If you want ALL the players in the game as possible, you should select every league in the game. But I wouldn't do that if I were you... ;)
But when you select a league, more players with that nationality will become available. Although you probably already knew that.

Does anyone here know if Fulham move back into craven cottage in 03/04? Its been 2 seasons and still playing at dinky Loftus Road. And if you have ever tried you can not expand that stadium since you do not own it.
