How do you get the America .ddt file? I hate buying cobi Jones aka a different name.
My game is a lil weird...heres some things that are in my game:
Michael Owen only scored 5 goals in 33 games.
Luizao (formerly of Hertha but free released due to his inepitude around the net) scored 35 goals in 41 games.
Ronaldo plays for Real Madrid "B"
Miroslav Klose is bought by Valencia for 60 million Euros
Dinamo Kyiv goes to the Champions League final, but lose to Bayern.
Dumferline finish 2nd in SPL in front of Celtic.
Patrick Kluivert is still actually liked in Barcelona :D

Thats the site I use for getting decent skins, but Ive never seen any patches on there....... if they did have it I wouldn't still be buying Jack Nathanson from the St. Louis Steamers or whatever (and I still think they should have been named the Cleveland Steamers :) )
Anyways, it doesnt look like the patch is on there anymore, si I'll check a few sites and if I find it I'll post a link.

there are many problems like that in the game. zidane isnt that good, there are unknown players (with bad stats) who are great, et al.

The original game though can give plenty of unusual sitautions.
Juvenes 2-0 Velez Mostar was one Champions League final I saw. And seeing a side scoring only four league goals in 46 games was quite annoying (I got relegated on goal difference that year at their expense).

My copy of the game was ruined, so it looks like no more CM for me. Now I'm just looking forward to the new Football Manager 2005. Here's a link to the official page. It has screen shots of the new interface at the bottom of the page.

I'm waiting for that too..it looks like another Fall release. I'd wish they'd get it out by the close of the transfer windows so it can be fully updated and correct.

Yea, Zidane is horrible in the game! He got bought by Bayern in my game and his average rating in 25 games was 6.20 and he has no goals.
Another player who sucks is David Beckham; he's overrated but hes not below an average rating of 6. And for some reason, despite not having Zidane and a below-average, Real is the best team in Spain still mainly because of one man: Some Iranian guy they bought for 20 thousand Euros, so unknown to me that the name escapes me. I know he's Iranian, even though he has an Israeli name...anyhoo, he's a central defender with an 8 heading and 11 jumping and 8 pace, but he has a 7.87 rating. WTF?

Hmm...is he missing penalties, too? Sounds accurate to me! :D
Yeah, Kluivert is a machine in CM. Ditto for Saviola.
I've noticed that about Beckham. I've almost dropped him completely from my England squad, right Gerrard on the right and Scott Parker and Wayne Bridge my mighty midfield.
Ronaldo seems to lose his scoring touch and get upset very quickly...in my game with Betis, Real offered him to me but I passed, as I was doing fine with my strikers, and didn't want to alienate anyone. Hertha BSC picked him up for $10m...and that was in 2003-2004 (big ups to you, Hertha Supporter)!
I'm mostly playing as Barca right now...I'm in 2004-2005, and I'm top of the table (not all that hard, to be honest), Man Utd is in first by 11 points in the EPL, Bolton is second, and Arsenal is in 13th and just fired David O'Leary...and all is right with the world.

I noticed that about Kluivert as well. When I started my game at Barca, I was planning to sell him in my Clear-out sale, but since no one was going to give me what I wanted, I kept him. He went on to get me a butt load of goals and finish second for FIFA's world Footballer of the year. If only things could be that way in real life:(

Plus, you start the game in CM4 with him at the beginning of a really long contract, with only $30k a week for salary. His morale is poor most of the time, but he's scoring and I've got tons of clubs interested in him.

Is the sigames.com website down for anyone else? I know they just put the forums back up yesterday, but it's taking me over a minute to load most of these pages, and even when they come up, it's all non-functional. (I have DSL service, btw.)

some of the poor ratings might have to do with what formation the player's team uses, and what position and individual instructions he is given in the match. As in real life, some players just don't seem to "fit." It happened many times for me in the past with CM where I get that perfect formation, sign the big-name player and his match ratings are mediocre at best. But when I put in another player with much less "talent" that player's match ratings are much higher. Now I try to make sure I examine the role the player I'm targeting has been playing for his team and in what formation.

Yes. And how the ball is or isn't getting to that player. For some reason Aerial Balls get played to Owen when he won't win the header, so it can be frustrating to see Zidane used as 2nd striker or Left-back

Tried unsuccessfully to play some CM this evening. Unfortunately managed to snap my CD. Not good.

Not good at all :(. I'm up to season 10/11 now, and while it's getting really good (my squad is unbelievable from the youths through to the veterans, I just finished off paying a loan Tranmere have since the start of the game and I just got a new sponsorship deal that is worth multiple times my old one), it takes something like 20 minutes to save nowadays and is actually getting too easy

How do you make money in this game? Ive been losing a lot of money. It might be because I'm playing with Southend in the English 3rd division... I see where it shows all the contracts and gate receipts and stuff but how do you get new ones? Is it something that happens in the off season? I havent yet completed the first season yet...

You make money by selling tickets to soccer games, merchandise and players to other clubs. Many if not most of the lower division clubs reflect the hard reality of European football these days, they don't make money. Have you made it through a season yet? At the start of your second season you should get new season ticket sales, tv revenue if there is any in Div 3 and sponsorship earnings. Basically you have to improve the team to win more games, get promoted and get more fans to make more money. Also, if you can do well in Cups you get cash for wins.

Yes, there is a game options menu where you can switch currency. It is one of the options on the right side menu bar.
