Does everyone know the best tool for use with CM? Cm Scout rocks because it allows to you search players based on their hidden attributes. Anyone struggling to find the jewel player in the rough will love CM Scout, now out for CM4.

I have a problem with my copy of cm4. I select MLS when I start the game but I cannot play with the US National Team. Does anybody know what I do wrong?

Don't you have to earn the right to manage a national side?

You always have to earn the manager's job for a national side. The job has to be open and the FA for the country has to decide you're worthy. In older versions the way around that was to create a manager by the same name as the current national team manager and then you can take his place. I don't know if it holds true for CM4.

In theory, yes you have to earn it and the current coach has to be fired. But there's a hack built in: start a new game, with a max database. Name your nationality as American. Choose MLS as the league to play. Instead of picking a league team to manage, click on "choose from list." A list of league teams will appear. Near the top of the screen , click on the word "American." The US national team will pop up. On the team screen, in the lower right hand corner, the box: TAKE CONTROL.

I can do this with Win 2000 too.

Then your priorities are ALL messed up!!!! You need to go out and drop at least $300 and get a stereo so that CM4 has priority not only on your computer, but in ALL aspects of LIFE!!! :)

Cept the Rapids of course ... heh

Don't worry, my friends and fiancee have called me a CM adict many a times. My fiancee even calls herself a CM widdow. We're not even married!

The Rapids are a close second.

I don't believe it Rapids fans are addicted to CM. I can probably guess that these fans have somehow managed to get Freddy Adu on a certain INVESCO Field side..

Just got CM4 in the mail Saturday...

Played as Man City, finished the first season in 8th or 9th I believe... sold off some excess baggage to finally be under-budget salary-wise.

Now, I found Freddy Adu at 14, playing for Real Madrid's youth team... but he won't sign with me! Haha, he considers it a step in the wrong direction.

I love all the new features with CM4 and have had no problems with it at all (EP5 installed).

LOL ... come on dude ... If I'm going to play CM4 ... I'm going to keep it realistic ... and we all KNOW that the Rapids get crap from MLS. So there is NO way Adu could be assigned to Colorado. :D Jamie Moreno MAYBE!

Actually I don't play MLS in CM4 ... I started with Saarbrucken in Regional South Germany. Got them promoted to Division II and have seven points in 3 games!!! Two great signings for me were Carlos Delgado and Hurtado. Hurtado got taken from me by a Division I side on a release clause.

I'm LOVING CM4 ... 2D play is making this game SO much better for me. Hope 03/04 is sped up though.

Why because DC United fans are the only American soccer fans who have heard of the game?

I played Colorado for a year or two, had them willing MLS Cup in the first season. I never got Adu because the scouting engine never found him. So now with CM Scout I'll be able to grab him.

Because it's well-known that Adu would like to stay in DC, near his family. CM4 obviously doesn't take that into account, nor, do I think, could it be expected to.

I'm kinda new to this CM thing, but isn't it possible to train a player for a new position? How does one do that? A friend said that in previous games there was actually a command that said "Train for new position".

Played a season with Wimbledon. Spent no money, finished 19 points clear at the top. Connolly scored 51 goals in the league. Board still won't give me money to strengthen the team. #!*#in' board.

Well its obvious that DCU fans are NOT the only ones whom have heard of the game. Which is good, cause the SiGames Board could use more Americans. Apparently. Adu pops into the game during the 03-04 season (in CM4) but I don't know who gets him. I've seen him play for DC twice in two seperate savegames. But Hudson is not rated well is training young players (6 out of 20)

As far a retraining a player to a new position. You must do it from the Training Screen, where u assign and develop schedules. Where is says Position you Click or Right-click (I forget right now) And pick the NEW Position or Side. For young players it definitely works.

Changing sides can be more difficult than adding a new position. I believe a Player can only play 3 positions. I'm not sure about GKs. I don' tthink that retraining Players to be Keepers works.

I got CM4 for my birthday, but my older iBook has a screen that is to small for the game. Parts are off the screen and i can't even get a game started because I can't get to the buttons! I contacted SIGames and they took three months to tell me a fix...for PC (an .exe file). Anyone have any ideas?

Trying this again. Yes I know what the suggested resolution is, this is why I am trying to find a way to be able to play it. It was a present and if I can't figure it out I will have to sell it!

Buy a PC laptop and you'll be all fine.

Thanks. I've let the asst. manager handle training up to now; I haven't quite figured that screen out yet. But I figure if I've got a guy with 19 finishing, who can't head, mark or tackle, he probably shouldn't be a central defender.
