Do you guys know is the match engine for patch 3.65 different from 3.68? I am using 3.65 right now, and I am afraid my old tactics wouldn't work for 3.68. I have spent a lot of times tweeking my tactics.

Your tactics should be just fine. It might be a good idea to write down all the specifics on paper, though, just in case anything unpleasant should happen to the files or the computer itself.

I'm not a big fan of 3.68, if only because the World Cup is already set, even in 2001.

A little over 6,000 games to get to the landmark. Relatively speaking I have one of the worst defensive records of the active managers. The second worst one is barely conceeding a goal every other game.

Man ... I've been a 01/02 addict for a while ... and was excited for CM4 (which I'm waiting on) ... especially for the 2D graphics and enhanced player/media interactions ...

What's the general concensus ... don't even start CM4?

Also Marc, I got my game from ebay ... I think it's coming from Thailand? Is this a legit piece of software? I guess wherever it's from ... the manual isn't in English (which sounds like you guys made it).

When it first came out it was really buggy and almost unplayable. When you get your copy go to www.sigames.com and download EP5 with data. I haven't had a single problem with it yet and I'm 4 years into my current game.

I keep getting fired within 18 months, no matter where I go. All my tactics have gone to hell. So I made some new ones. Those were even worse. I am completely befuddled.

Oh well. Maybe I just stink. (Although I did get Darlington into the Premiership in 01/02, and Rushden into the Premiership using EP3.)

I've heard several people have ordered it from Thailand and have had no Complaint about it other than how long it takes to arrive.


EP5 is great. Especially since I downloaded Simon Treasnor's Update which adds the most recent transfers and transfer budgets. However, it doesn't change the start date.

I got CM4 for my birthday, but my older iBook has a screen that is to small for the game. Parts are off the screen and i can't even get a game started because I can't get to the buttons! I contacted SIGames and they took three months to tell me a fix...for PC (an .exe file). Anyone have any ideas?

According to SI Games the Resolution should be 1024 X 768.

a follow up to my own post ...

The Thai copy appears to be totally legit. It was a CM4 offical copy and the packaging was in Thai. So I believe that this was sold in Thailand by Edios.

Also, I love this game! The 2D game play is a major plus for me! It shows me that I really didn't have a clue what the text was actually about.

Also, the individual tatics are SO much better.

I'm not getting into the training. That looks pretty cool too.

The only thing I do not like ... is the speed of the game between 'ticks'. I just read that if I run it as priority on XP it will significantly be faster.

No bugs yet ... everything is pretty cool. I like that you can offer your player to teams that are interested and I LOVE the increased roll of your Assistant Manager.

Yup ... took forever on my slow 56K line ... but I did right after I installed CM4.

For anyone wondering ... putting CM4 on high priority REALLY speeds up the the between ticks match play.

Good stuff ... man I need some damn sleep!

EZ ... if you have XP (not sure otherwise but probably pretty similar) ... you start up CM4 ... you do Cnlt-Alt-Del ... this brings ups the task manager ... go to the processes tab ... find the CM4 executable (.exe) ... right click it ... go down to "set priority" and put it on high.

I can do this with Win 2000 too.

On my system when I changed to high priority other applications did not work so well. For example I like to use winamp while playing and high priority for CM4 means no music during the 2D pitch view. A little anoying. I'm back to normal priority.

I just got fired as USMNT coach. :( Did a better job than Bruce Arena in the Confederations Cup, lost to Brazil 0-2, beat Japan 2-1, lost to Colombia 0-1. Next thing I know, Bob Gansler is taking my place. But the board didn't bother firing me first. I just saw this new guy had been appointed. A glitch in the system?
