I agree. I've packed away my CM4 and went back to CM3.
I'll wait till the 2004 version to play it again, maybe they'll have everything ironed out by then...

I am treating Ajax like a BANK. In between 2004 and 2005 I have sold John O'Brien, Ibrahimovic, Nourdin Boukhari, Mido, Chviu, van der Meyde, Victor Sikora, Luisao, Bogdan Lobont, Stekelenberg.. all for over 80 Million USD total.
Trabelsi left on a pre-contract to Man utd.
But yet I still have Wesley Sonck, Tim Howard, David Stokes, Maxwell, Pius Ikedia, van der Vaart, van der Gun, Youssouf Hersi, Pienaar, N. de Jong, Stefano Seedorf, J. Van Damme.
I've purchased Zonneveld, Kazlauskas, Rafael Marquez (then sold him for 11 Mil USD), Memo Gonzalez, Freddy Adu (then released on a free to Bayern) Timmy and David Stokes (mentioned above) as well as managing the US NT. Cocu came to Ajax in the Marquez sale to Barca
All together I grossed over 100 Mil USD in revenue in one season. With AJAX. they expanded the stadium by adding a Retractable Roof. I wish they'd make it a 75000 seater so more money would come from tickets.
All this and I'm still 3 points ahead of PSV w/ game in hand. CM4 ownz , bring on WCQualifying.
US is in the Final stage from Concacaf w/ Canada, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Honduras and Trinidad & Tobago. Difficult Difficult stage

Still playing 01/02. Never played in Greece before, so I've started out with AOAN (based on actual real life table, the worst team in the second division) to give myself a challenge. Anyway, less than two months into the season I've seen three suspensions handed out to players for giving obscene gestures toward the fans.
I've played the game extensively, mostly in France and a bit in England and Brazil without ever seeing a player suspended for an obscene gesture, and now 3 in two months...those Greeks must be a wound-up bunch.

I thought the Amsterdam ArenA already had a retractable roof.

Hmm...this happened after the 02/03 season..So I can't remember what the actual change was..maybe it was Training Facility Upgrade..

Got quite a good game going at the moment. I'm Manc City , and was given the task of figthing bravely against relegation. I promptly won the league in my first season, on the final day, by one point, without signing anybody. The Anelka - Fowler partenrship yielded 62 league goals and Great Dane earned himself a contract extension by putting in some stunning performances.
The second season sees me trying to gain a respectable league position and qualifying for Europe. I've got quite a bit of cash, despite paying of a loan that runs out in 2046, and have invested wisely. New signings include Said, Alexander Farnerud, Jofre, Mokofo, Russell Anderson, and really good young right winger from Wimbledon whose name I've forgotten. After 11 league games i'm 3rd 3 ponits behind Arsenal in 1st, qualified top of my CL group, and beat Liverpool away in the 3rd of the league cup. Overall i'm aiming for a top three finsh and six points in the Manc derby.

Barcelona offered me the Manager spot and I took it. So now I'm the what 12th person to be stolen by Barca from De Eredivisie? LOL
I made a huge bid for Van der Vaart but was Rejected. I will NOT be stifled! 40 Mil USD + Overmars will be accepted DAMN u AJAX!
Funny thing though. Ajax has yet to hire a new manager since I left. Its only been a week however.
and Yes I have bought Adu to Barca from Bayern. he was only 15 at the time.
Barca already have Van Der Meyde and I have him playing Forward as Kluivert is too exhausted and Saviola is hurt. But No Ronnie. Riquelme is playing great! :D

How do I increase my wages for players?
I took Palermo from serie C1 to serie A and made $300 million for the club after 16 seasons. The board expect me to win championship this season, but I can't sign any good players because the maximum salary I can pay someone is $1.2 million while all other big clubs can spend several millions. When I asked the board for extra budget higher wages, I was rejected even though I have hundreds of millions in the bank. How do I win the championship if that's all I got? That's unfair. Is there something I did wrong?
I like Italian league because there are no foreigner restrictions, but now I am finding serie A extremely difficult because of that reason.

My GK's kicking is really bad. I have a few games which he only completed 1 or 2 out of 20 passes. Is that normal? I might be doing something wrong with my tactic I think, but I can't figure it out.

Change your GKs player instructions to short passing. If he is not a good passer there is no use for him to kick it long or direct.

In my game I am making him to kick long because he is not a good passer. I don't want him to pass the ball to the other team's forwards. It has happened before. So many times he passed the ball to the other team and has to make a spectacular save right afterwards. In the end of the game he gets 8 or 9 for rating although he doesn't deserve it. He must have graduated from Barthez goal keeping academy or something.
Strangely his passing ability is 13 which is not bad at all. I have players who are worse and pass a lot better.

Lucky you, I've had a situation where the board refused to let me have any players except those coming through my youth system. Healthy bank balanace too.

If your reputation in Italy is sufficiently high (read: God-like), you can go ahead and issue an ultimatum for more funds for wages. Have your resumé updated, too, just in case the board calls your bluff. If you've done all that, though, it shouldn't be too hard for you to find another managing job.
I figure that's the least they could do for you after getting a team with pink uniforms that much respect. :p

No, that's not really normal ... you'd expect at least a 25-30% completion rate. If his Passing is 13, maybe the problem lies in his Decisions or in the Anticipation (taking up good attacking positions) of those in front of him.
Try this: In the team directions, have your GK pass short and to the center ... also have your center back(s) passing as direct. You'll have the ball going forward at the earliest opportunity, but your keeper won't be booting it out of bounds or straight back to the opponents.

Ok I have CM 01/02 and this game kicks. (no pun intended)
So I'm playing a Champions League game w/ Man United against Lille. Barthez lets in the first two shots he sees....ARGG. But then he goes down, and idiot me did not name a backup for the subs. So I play Abel Xavier in goal, who I picked up from Everton. Now this probably sounds completely normal to this point, but Xavier sees like 8 shots and gets a CLEAN SHEET!
Has anything like this ever happened to one of yous?
Oh yeah, when I tried to sign this one guy to my side, the deal went through, but said that I needed room on my roster. I only had 48 numbers taken up on my first team + reserves though. Did I need to free up a spot on the starters and subs listing?

Not really ... mostly because I don't forget to name backup keepers.
Learned my lesson in a game while managing Dallas. Amann was already out through injury and Snitko got sent off, leaving me little choice but to put Kreis in goal.
Thankfully, it only took six goals to drive the point home.
