Could someone please tell me more about the:

Swiss Playoff bug for when only top division is enabled

Maybe that's the trouble I'm having here. The world has stopped in Swiss football :D
It's a conspiracy against the Swiss I tell ya...

They missed the bug, which means it's a Swiss Miss!

I'll show myself out now.....

The real kicker for me was getting fired by Cameroon the day after I qualified for the World Cup. Go figger....

It seems to be a regular occurance, especially if you've been in charge for a while. Same thing happened to me when I was in charge of Japan ... got third place in the '02 World Cup, won both the '03 and '05 Confed. Cups, won the '04 Asian Cup without allowing a goal and qualified for Germany '06 with three matches to spare.

I was sacked the next day.

I just lost to Darlington, i outshot them 21-1 and lost 2-0...so frustrating!!!! An own goal and they score on a shot 35 yards out with their only shot of the game....

Just been sacked on the same day as getting manager of the month award with two games of the season to go at Aylesbury. Strated April off in 9th place, up as far as third, back down to ninth and finished off with a 5-1 away win to take me back up to sixth. It was a bit of a tight table at the time. With two games to go anyone in the top half of the table had a chance of the title.

Maybe not too surprising as the fans were on my back all season (started slowly). Don't think being on the receiving end of the Premiership record scoreline at the end of the previous campaign did much to endear me to them. Rejoined Windsor & Eton now and trying to keep them in the first division. Improving, and hopefully solid midtable will be achieved, but I badly need to sell players. Losing money fast and the ground only holds about 3,500. Which represents 0.35% of the current capacity of the largest ground in the game at present.

Not playing in the world cup this time myself, although two new qualifiers were present. San Marino and Madagasar reaching it for the first time ever . England finished bottom of a qualifying group which included Andorra, but are going well in the European qualifiers.

Started all over... always have to think a lot about which club to choose (I never, ever played Ajax though, strange?)... This time I ended up at FC Porto.

Had a lousy start, as did Boavista, Sporting and Benfica. Some not-too-well known club has been leading the table all season. I started at 11 and slowly crept up to 9. Currently in 6th with about 14 games played or so after giving the 'invincible' small time leaders a 4-0 kicking. In the UEFA Cup 2nd round I beat Chievo 2-0 and 1-4. From that time on board and fans finally cut me some slack.

Afraid the title is out of reach although the team is getting better (zonal defense cost me many points.. but it took a while to figure that and some other things out). In 3rd round UEFA just beat Besiktas 1-2. Hoping to match Porto's real life accommplishment. Seems possible enough if I can keep them playing like this.

Spent a season with Windsor & Eton, but then moved to newly promoted to the Conference Halifax. My first fixture at home to Whitby represented the first time I've ever managed then in CM, despite playing the game for over five years now.

Not doing to badly either. Top socrers in the Conference, but could do with a decent defence.

I'm never Ajax either, but I always no matter who I am try and get Van d. Vaart... Expensive, but deadly...

Yeah, Ajax have the best young talent in the game. I basically shortlist every player on Ajax's books because they are all good. Chivu is the best though. PSV also have some great players as well.

FA Cup Final:

Match goes to overtime tied 1-1. I use my last sub to start the overtime period. First OT, no goals. 115th minute, 5 minutes remaining, my keeper takes down a guy going past him in the box. Red card. Oh crap.

Insert my most athletic defensive midfielder between the pipes. He saves the PK!

Match goes to penalties and he saves two more PKs and I win the FA Cup with a defensive midfielder in the net. I couldnt believe it!

That training advice people gave really has been working. I just got to the begining of a season, and I worked with the training a little more. I improved quite a few players stamina and pace with intense fitness training.

Took Porto to win the UEFA Cup in the 1st season. Ended up 2nd in the League.

I got into the CL 2nd round and am currently topping the table on goal difference after 16 matches.

The board is satisfied and sometimes pleased.

The supporters were getting unhappier and unhappier though until they got to organizing a pressure group to convince the board to kick me out.

I wasn't playing Deco for some time after an injury and since I put him in things appear to be getting better as they are now only unsatisfied.

I believe it was Vitoria Setubal.

Now I'm leading the table after 18 matches or so in my 2nd season.

I play Sporting in the CL 2nd round (weird...) and just won the away game 2-3. Looks like I'm going to the QF :D

Oh yes, and I also won the European Supercup at the start of the season. 2-0 against Cl winners Juve.

In the two years that I've played CM this is the best I've ever done (save bringing Rushden & Diamonds into the EPL from the Conference in 8 years in 00/01).

I think I actually have a good chance of winning that CL. I'll need some luck, but it's possible. My team is really good and so far I haven't bought a single player.

Porto's balance is 34.000.000 atm (+- 12 mill more than at the beginning of the previous season). Still I can only offer very low wages... kinda wondering what I have to do to get some money from the board.

PS. Anyone know where you can get that ranking of managers there was in 00/01 and 01/02? I wanna know my reputation.

Waugh, I got booted from my Serie C1a club (Livornio?), AFTER ending a 4 match losing streak with a solid win. Now I think I'll try having some of what Luan's having, time for a LONG holiday. :)

Haha got Diego Gavilan and Brian Kerr loaned to me from newcastle to york about two weeks ago, and havnt lost a match since...whooo woud have thought... Gavilan is tearing it up and what do you know, 17 year old Levant Yalcin is leading the english 3rd division with 25 goals through 19 matches. He learns so quick. he started the season with a 15 in finishing. now its 20

Hey guys, I'm trying to get more fellow Americans over at this great CM4 forum site called www.cm4rums.com

I've been a member there since March under "Danks" and they're cool with Yanks. It'd be nice if we established more of a presence on the CM scene.
