Does anyone else have the problem of buying youngsters to develop, back before I liked to challange myself for example Everton got relegated and I picked up Rooney for a nice $1 million relegation clause or something and he accepted a contract as a hot prospect. Yet everytime I buy a young (regardless of age) regular player for a small club and throw him on my reserves as a hot prospect he seems to stop progressing, does anyone else have this problem as well? Would signing them as squad rotation players and just throwing them into competitions like the league cup fix this? Well, my strategy when playing is to spend big on top coaches right away. Even at lower clubs (currently in Italy C1/A) some very good coaches are willing to sign with my team (for the right price, of course).
A coach high in motivating skill will help develop your young players very quickly, so in the end I have very few red numbers showing up on my training page.

Good point on the coaches, I'm going to check that out.
Something else you brought to my attention. In the training screen I usually keep it on general so I can track the players energy level. But recently I've been looking at the attributes as I'm working to increase some of them with different training regimines. So my question is:
What do the different color attributes mean? Some are red, as mentioned. I also get a column of yellow ones (for example, my balance column is yellow for all players when I look at the physical attributes). The rest are green. Any pointers?

Yellow -- Stat has stayed the same
Red -- Stat has decreased
I usually look at the attacking attributes for forwards & midfielders, defense for defenders, and goalkeeping for keepers.
When I look for coaches, I find coaches with high motivating & adaptability ratings, plus high skills in three of the attributes used for coaching. I never use one coach for more than three skills. I also like to look for one coach who I can use exclusively for goalkeepers, but that is just my personal preference.

Man I'm glad I ask these questions. :)
Ok, so green is increase. But is that all? Does that mean it increased from the last previous number? So it could be a green number 16 that has risen from 15 but it could have been 3 years ago if the number is still at 16?
That wouldnt make sense because then there's yellow that says it stays the same. How long must it stay the same for the number to be yellow?
I guess what I'm trying to say is do you have further explaination?
Thanks.

It's just whether it has increased since the player has been training with you. So if you've had the player for ten seasons, it won't tell you very much.

Just recorded 946 minutes without a league goal, but still managed to finish as top scorers, netting 26 times in total. Enough for a championship win with Aylesbury, first time for the club, coupling with European success. Defending the titles in pretty poor fashion at the moment. Halfway through the season and I'm just above the relegation zone.

I'm sure that this has been mentioned before but....
Anybody else have to make dividend payments even when your not a plc? I am Hampton and Richmond Borough and just came off our first Premier League championship and ever since we gained promotion to the Premier league we have had to pay dividends. The game never indicated that a change was made. Could it happen on its own, without your knowledge or could H&R Boro already be a PLC(incredibly highly doubtful)? Basically I can never seem to have more than 40 million pounds(I forget what the alt code for the sterling symbol is, 01225, errr no, 01286 no).
Luan - I've read some of your stories from the CM website. Quality. I tried about a year ago with a story about Palermo, but I couldn't keep it up for longer than a year.

I'm playing with Coventry and once I won the EPL I had to start paying dividends as well. For me it seems that once I had over $100 Million in the bank they started taking dividends. The more I have in the bank come summer time the more they took out. So what I've done is blow some cash right during the end of the season and drop as close to 100 Mil. as possible. Sometimes I cant, or dont want to, so I pay a hefty dividend. Sucks ass, but basically its the real life equivalent of paying the stockholders that invested in the team.

The dividend payments are made to shareholders, which almost all clubs are likely to have. Even a non PLC club like my own (Halifax) has them, although I suspect not the sort of team to be paying dividends. The PLC indicates that the shares are publically traded, as oppsed to a limited company where they are not. In this case the shareholders are likely to be the board and fans of the concerned club. If the team does particularly well I suppose they could be given a dividend, but I expect most wouldn't be too bothered and happy to see it reivested.
Whereas for for a PLC a lot of shareholders will have no real connection with the club other than to invest and turn in a profit.
Actually, during my time at Hayes (never as a PLC) the club quite regularly made large dividend payments, although I've avoided them at Aylesbury thus far.
H&R are certainly not a PLC, even on the Alternative Investment Market. The lowest I've ever known a club be publically quote IRL is in the second division (Millwall and Preston I think at that level).
The £ is alt+0163
As for my stories on the CM boards, I haven't really done anything except updates, and both long term ones as threads (Wokingham & Pro Vercelli) were copied from my thread over at CMC.

Yeah, you'd think so, but I'd suggest listening to them a bit. Just in the last few days from the training advice I've seen on here I've tried some of it. In about two months (CM time) I've increased the stamina and/or pace of about half my squad. Like I said, all I've done is when I have a week or two off take 3-5 days and put my whole team in a training schedule that is light on skills, intense on fitness and none on all the others. Its working for me and my guys last longer in games now, which is awesome.
I also increase a couple of my forwards "Finishing" stat by doing the same thing with the shooting training. I turned all the other training catergories down for my forwards and just did intense shooting. Amazing how it works, but it really makes sense when you think about it. Mario I suggest giving it a try.

I'm taking a bit of a break from playing in Italy right now. I'm playing as Pisa in C1/A and I was up to fifth place, then in three matches against bottom-third teams I managed only two points...
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think there needs to be another button in the "Team Instructions" menu in the tactics screen during matches. There needs to be a button that says "Stop playing like a bunch of ********************* wearing high heels."

Uhm... Me and FC Basel played 22 matches in the Swiss Div A. After completing the last match against Servette it's all over. Error (send report/don't send report - desktop)
I tried fooling around with stuff in the Temp folder.
It works. No error. But now the game appears to be playing on without me :D
Business as usual except that I can't do anything, kinda like someone's pressing the continue button all the time. My news fills up... matches are played. But I'm just sitting there.
Anyone know? Guess not, but you never know.

I think there needs to be a "Stop letting them shoot at our goal every five seconds" button. That also would come in handy when an inferior team all the sudden bombards my net and I'm setting there wondering how a team full of international stars is losing to a D1 side in the FA Cup. Man that pissed me off last night! :)

Man that pissed me off last night! :) I was once playing as Cameroon in the African Cup of Nations. In the last match of the group stage, I only needed a draw to advance. I outshot my opponent 12-1 and lost 1-0. ARGH!!!
