So far I love all the changes in Enhancment pack 3, the game loads/saves faster.. More interaction with my squad, but I hate all the injuries in training now... Might just be me, but all the sudden lots of my players get injured for no reason now... I'll be waiting for me next game and BOOM out for 3 months... :(

You need to run CM4 in a screen resolution above 1024 by 768. The next size is 1152 by 864 on most computers and is the one I run the game on in order to get windowed mode.

There are still problems in MLS in EP3.

1. They call the league "Major League Soccer Cup"

2. I have teams offer me players for cash. I'm managing DC and Chicago offered me Kelly Gray for $210k.

3. Valuations are still not corrected. DMB is still at $8 million while Quaranta is at $750k.

4. When the "News" tells of a transfer, it doesn't say what exactly happened. It says, "Chicago signs Billy Sleeth in an exchange deal" but it doesn't say what the other half of the exchange was.

5. In the training screen, the button for "No Match" and "Pre-Season" are reveresed, if you select one, you get the other training regimine. And when you set it for "Assistant handle training" he never does Pre-season training in the actual pre-season. All my players are fit in January and Feb. which worries me that they might decide to be in offseason fitness come this summer.

Wife out of town this weekend, so I'll delve a litte deeper, see if I can find some more problems.

Actually playing.

Although due to not alway being a job, probably the equivalent of three or four seasons now has been without me managing a side.

Are there any editors for the game yet? One of the things I'm waiting for is to be able to insert myselft in the game on the Quakes roster so when Donovan leaves I'll be the second coming of Freddy Adu! :D

Oh and how are the enhancement packs? What's the difference with the game after the enhancement pack three? And one last thing, have they finally fixed that fcuking gawd awful bug in MLS where you can only have 2, 2, transfers per season period! (even if you hire coaches!!) :mad: That really pisses me off, not every fcuking transfer is a 'discovery' jaysus!

Finally got the Demo to download.Is the Full game more accurate?I decided to play Everton,and imitate life by getting Brian McBride. Found him at the US national team page. Half the guys listed there sure as Hell don't play for the USNT and seem fictitious,and even Mac is listed as a projected "Backup for his Club" Huh??

In what may be a related question,are the statistical and evaluation basis for this game post WC?

i think the full with the update packs is more accurate then the demo but apperently mls was one of their smaller priorities.

This is what happened in my first season as 'Quakes boss.

Signed Adu (obviously) and Yallop as coach then found out that I couldnt sign anyone else. This kinda sucked but I got on with it.
Started OK, DeRo + LD combined really well, Ronnie was solid and so was Mulrooney. Out of the rest, Todd Dunivant was my only consistent good performer. Ramiro and Manny were terrible, Ian Russel spent more time in hospital than on the pitch. Conway scraped through the season but it was obvious I needed another GK. Out of the young players - all of them sucked. Arturo Alvarez finished the season with 1 goal. Ching and Mullan sucked.
I managed to qualify for the post-season comfortably due mainly to my home form. I won 2 away games all season, but failed to win just 3 games at Spartan.
Play-Offs -
Q-F -Dallas h) 0-1 a) 2-1 (go DeRo)
Semi - KC - h) 4-1
Final - Crew n) 4-0

I won MLS after a terribly sub-standard season.
Just before ther post-season started the board announced that they wouldnt sack me, but I was considered unsafe.
They think Im OK now though.

The draft was pretty wierd......how are you supposed to know what these players are like? All it seems to be good for at the minute is getting rid of anyone you dont want.

Anyways, that was season 1, and they want me to do the same again in season 2. Doubt I can.

I had a pretty good first season in charge of the Revs. I won the triple (MLS Cup, Open Cup, CCC). I too was only able to sign two players (Adu and Salyer) which made things tough when Cbus pinched my assistant manager mid-season leaving me short a coach the rest of the year. Like real life there was a lot a parity in the East, and SJ had my number all year. Thankfully Dallas knocked them out of the playoffs. Some of the roster moves were bizarre though: LA released Hong before the season began and then cut Hartmann to trade for Fat Tony, Cbus traded Martino to Dallas for a handful of draft picks.

Second season is going ok but EP3's injury bug is taking it's toll. Twellman has missed the whole season so far (5 month spinal injury), JMM has spent 3 months out (groin sprain), and everyone else has passed around various 2-3 week injuries. Thankfully an open roster slot has allowed me to loan Shola Ameobi to cover the last three months.

The USMNT has been a coaching merry-go-round too. Arena is fired after the Confed Cup, Gansler is hired for the Gold Cup, fired, then hired back a day later, Bradley replaces him at teh start of Qualifying but just got canned after losing 2-0 away to Aruba!

1) How can I print out my squad? I used to play CM3 98/99 and I always enjoyed being able to print out my squad so I could review it. But I can't seem to find anywhere in CM4 that allows me to print.

2) I haven't downloaded any of the Enhancements Packs yet. Do I have to download all three or does EP3 include all of the updates from the first two? If I have to download all three, do I have to download them in order?

The demo doesn't include the full player database. In the full version, if you select USA as one of the background and/or active leagues, you will see all of your USMNT heroes.

As far as the statistics and evalutations, most players are assigned some fixed values and some values range (somewhat random) at the beginning of the game. Virtually every first-team player (and most subs) in a major league gets numbers based on the scouting report from a fan who regularly watches the team play (for instance, the guy who rates Oldham players often posts here). The more well-known the player, the greater the number of fixed values each time you start a new game.

On the other hand, some of the lesser known players may be excellent when you start a game one time and not nearly as good when you start a new game. However, there are definite trends. Finally, there are hidden attributes (loyalty, adaptability, versatility, penalty kicks, corner kicks, professionalism, etc - there are around 18 I think) which dictate how much room for improvement a player may have. As a result, even if a player has rather modest ratings at the beginning of a new game - he may have a much higher ceiling than a guy (even if he is the same age) who starts out with better overall statistics. Naturally training plays a large role in player development as well.

In general, though, don't rely on the demo to form a conclusion regarding the accuracy of the player ratings for USA players. Even in 01/02, the full database included US players down to the DP3 level (although you could not play as a DP3 team). In CM 4 (note I have only fooled around with the demo - I am still playing on 01/02 because I have a few things left to prove and don't want to be a guinea pig until some of the other bugs get worked out) they have scouted the players even more reliably. There are still discrepencies, but they even out over time (especially since you can play the game over ten or twenty seasons).

You can also wait for an editor (I don't know how many are currently available for CM4) and tweak settings for players yourself.

No doubt about it, this game is a great franchise, even if the CM4 release has undergone some teething problems.

There are regular posts by people from sigames who can verify/refute everything that I have posted here.

i dont believe it is sold in the US. my friends and i have all downloaded pirated copies on kazaa, but to buy it i believe you'd need to import it from england or some other country.

I haven't the faintest clue on item one. However, there is a chcek box in Manager Options for "Print to File" or something, as I recall. Or, that could be years ago.

Second question is a bit easier. Just download EP3 and you're golden. With data includes the player updates and the new leagues, without just includes the three patches.

I think most things will work without starting a new game. But to be safe I would start a new game. But you can't get the ARSE command to work without starting a new game.
