Sorry if this has been brought up before in this thread (and it probably has) but I wasn't going to read through all 63 pages.
Where is the best place to buy CM4 for PC in the USA?
After looking around, it seems that the big kicker here is that I want the manual and paperwork in English not Thai.
I've been playing the demo version for a week and am ready to make the jump to the full version but am having a hard time tracking down an English version.
Thanks for any help.

Earlier on someone mentioned pre-ordering it from www.chipsbits.com in VT. They sold out quickly but have since re-stocked. I ordered it from them and had it in the mail a few days later for $45 + S&H, though I wasn't sure I had the real thing since the package was the size and shape of a DVD.
After having my EPL and MLS seasons lock up at the start of year 2 I have launched a campaign with Schalke 04 in the BL1. Finished year one mid-table but won the UEFA Cup 2-0 over Parma. Even so 3/4 of my team has been in poor morale since mid-season last year. Mpenza started dogging it and demanded a transfer two weeks into the season, going to Sevilla for 10 Million Pounds. Unfortunately his replacement (Olisadebe) took his time signing and couldn't join until the January transfer window - contributing greatly to our bad finish.
For year two:
In: Alexander Farnerud
In: Joe Cole
In: John O'Brien
In: Gravesen & Radzinski + 750K (for G. Varela)
In: Brett Emerton
In: Darius Kampa (reserve GK, potential starter if Rost keeps dogging it "considering his options")
Out: Andy Moeller (retired)
Out: Niels Oude Kamphuis ("dislikes his manger", "wants to move on")
Out: Gustavo Varela (see above)

No idea. Varela was playing sparingly, mostly as a sub for me, and was unsettled. I started listening to offers for him and then Everton jumped in, made that offer and I jumped for it. Unfortunately the English FA delayed a decision on a work permit until 9/3 and the transfer window closed on 9/1 and the deal was cancelled. Hopefully they'll make a similar offer for the winter transfer period.

Still playing CM00/01, and have just finished the 2129/30 season with Hayes. Finished fourth in the Premiership last time, but unable to improve this time due to lack of consistency, and some pretty appalling home form.

In what was an eventful season, newly promoted Wycombe ran away with the title, and the relegation battle must have caused a few worries around the country. With three games to go the bottom nine were separated by just one point, as you can see they spread out a little. But with no definite relgations, and ten potentially capable of filling the three spaces, an exciting round of matches to finish.
Cup form for me had some highlights. Uneventually League Cup 4th round exit to Burton, third round FA Cup exit to 3rd division Blackpool (who promptly collapsed in the league), 3rd round qualifying Champions League exit to Lugano. However, I did manage to avenge that quickly, knocking them out of the UEFA Cup on the way to eventual victory over Torpedo Moscow in the final. First European success for me since the 2043 Super Cup victory over Levski. In that competition next year I'll get to face Champions League winners Denderleeuw. A little surprising as they'd never been in it before, and Belgium are ranked 26th in the UEFA coefficients (San Marino are 21st).

IRL a Belgian 2nd division team, from the town of the same name. Not heard of it myself either beforehand.
For the record I lost that game.

I started a new game as manager of Le Havre Athletic Club in France's second division. I won that in the first season, and finished third in my first season in Le Championnat. That's good enough for a Champion's League spot. :) I really believe I've missed my calling. :p

CM4 is..to put it politely...crap. EP3 fixed quite a few things, but created one big new problem, and the game is still...crap.
I'll definitely wait a few months after the next CM is released to make sure the game works before buying it.
I'm sure there'll be another month-long wait for EP4, which is simply rediculous. This game has been out for a month and a half and some very basic football functions don't work properly. And some very basic CM functions don't, either. I know it's 'taboo' on the sigames forums to 'blame testing', but I honestly wonder if any feedback from testers was ever taken into account. I don't really expect an answer, just wanting to vent, but it would appear that the SI staff simply is in over their head with this release, trying to do way too much, and change it all from previous versions, and what they've ended up with is a major step backwards in terms of fun and functionality. And it appears that to get the full benefit of a new 'enhancement' PATCH, you need to start a brand new game. If this trend continues for each EP released, it's probably better just to shelve CM4 and wait for the next REAL release.
Just very, very disappointed in CM4. I know the SI guys are working their tails off, but if that work isn't quality, does it really matter?

I'm with Elwood on going back to 01/02. I think I'll take the plunge and start with Inter as I've suffered enough with 20+ seasons of Margate, Forest Green, and Connah's Quay. Will be a fun change.
As for CM 4.0.5, it's just ok. It's not great. CM 01/02 was/is great and that's why I'm still playing it. I think CM4 has some great features that if they were just added to CM3 would have made it absolutely superb. But there's too many annoying bugs and I don't like the 2D view. The pictures I had in my head were much more satisfying than seeing my team throw in directly to the other team and have them launch a 40 yarder past my keeper who for some reason isn't even standing in the box.
Although the good part according to EP3 is that the MLS will be getting a much sweeter TV deal in 2004. I was given 1.5 million Euros as the Fire for it. 10 teams would have ESPN paying out at least 15 million Euros for MLS rights, maybe its restitution for giving Jim Rome a show.

One other difference for me is that I'm not playing so much CM4 due to still being engrossed in the earlier version. Missed CM01/02 for that reason, and still wish to win the FA Cup again. But keep doing badly in that one.
Played a little CM4, with Fair Play, and my reactions were about as favourable as CM3 on its release. Except then I didn't have a long ongoing save still to be played. Actually was going along quite well, if losing interest, but then knew you could only play for 30 seasons.

Where can I get one of the Championship Manager games in the US? I tried looking on the websites of gamestop, best buy, compusa and eb games and I got nothing.
Any suggestions?

For those of us with slow computers, going back to CM 01/02 isnt an option as Ive had to get rid of it completely.
It is totally wierd thatan obviously unfinished game was released. It must be quite frustrating for the sigames guys too. Thousands of people on their case 24/7 about how terrible life has been since the release. I for one find CM4 bearable, but only just.
How the testers managed to completely miss the Champions League scheduling bug seems blatantly ridiculous.
Im gonna stick with ProEvo2 as my main thing until a lot of this gets resolved.
Did all of you Americans have to mailorder the game?

Untrue, in CM 01/02 you can play for as long as the game doesn't crash. My record is 45 years. CM 99/00 and previous versions had the 30 year max.

Sorry if I wasn't so clear there, I was actually referring to CM97/98 with that remark, the version prior to CM3.
I certainly know the lack of a limit in CM3 (and later versions) :)

Just seen a massive 1,296 attendance for the final of the Champions League, only barely higher than the lowest attendance in the Conference in the same season. In the Stade de France (80,000 capacity), so a few seats to spare.

Sigh, guess I'll have to reinstall 00/01 then, I'm starting to jones for CM again, but I've been holding out in hopes that CM4 would recover from the early glitches, doesn't look good now. :P

Anybody know how to change the screen to windowed ? I downloaded Enhancement pack 3 but it still wont let me do that, Its quite annoying playing the game in full window mode. Btw i started a new season with Lazio and i have seen some improvements. I was able to sell Gaizka Mendieta for 10.5 M and had about seven offers for him...
