&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Will there be a difference in the version of CM4 that'll be available (hopefully) March 28 in most other countries and the version that'll eventually be sold in North America?

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp If not, then I might as well pre-order it online from the UK. If so, then I'd better wait for the North American release.

There is no difference that I know of. Since CM has never distributed to North America before I don't know what that version would be like. But I assume it would be the same as the British version.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Thanks Spartak! :)

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp I suppose I'd better pre-order it quickly to satiate my CM fix ASAP! :D

Hi, you'll have to excuse my complete ignorance as I'm not a huge gamer. I play alot of Empire Earth but thats about it.

I did play very early simulators, pre-PC days. Premiership Manager I think it was called. Very easy though. I think I took Tranmere Rovers to league champions and UEFA cup final or something equally ludicrous.

So what is all the hype for CM4 about? What is the difference between this new version and games from 10 years ago? Just prettier graphics?

Is it available in the USA or should I get a mate from England to ship it over.

It sounds like fun though and as it's brand new I may well get it and join in the discussions on this site about it.

The graphics are if anything worse than Premiership manager, but it is the most realistic and addictive football sim ever made. If you want a life don't get it.

Lol. I would imagine thats very true.

Actually that would be perfect for me as I've had to restrict myself to one night a week on the beers to save up for some travelling in South America later this year or early next.

It will be perfect as you will also save on food as you will forget to eat. The only problem will be that sleep deprivation is likely and you may get sacked from work.

Anybody have this happen.....

I'm in about my 15th season. I've won the EPL 3 of the last 4 years and 4 of the last 6. I've put together an absolutely astonishing team that won all four trophies last season(EPL, League Cup, FA Cup, Champs. League). Then, this season rolls around and all the sudden players start disliking each other. First teams tried to buy almost every single one of my players (expected). Then, when a couple players got mad that I wouldnt let them go during the offseason, some people got pissed at them for wanting to leave. I'm into the next season and my talent is high enough that I'm running away with the EPL again, but half my team is unhappy. I've been forced to sell a starting midfielder and d-mid (both 23 and valued around $20,000,000+) at the winter transfer window just to satisfy the other 9 starters that "dislike" them.
What did I do wrong? Anyone have this happen to them?

i'm not that far along and it hasn't happened to me but as long as you keep winning who cares? ;)

it might make the game a bit more challenging.

Sounds like a case of Stan Collymore/Pierre Van Hoojidonk.

I remember the old manager sim I had back in the day a player, without any warning at all, would quit football altogether and go and open a pub!! Very frustrating the day b4 a major cup final.

However, as a football manager you can pretend to be interviewed by John Motson and shrug your shoulders and say "....but thats football for you".

Saw it on sale today.

Went into the shop to buy the game and ended up with TOCA Race Driver instead.

Still enjoying my game of CM00/01.

Bought the game to day, talk about a huge dissapointment, its sower, despite my machine outsripping the min. spec., and it's filled with bugs ( reportedly over 90 of them). There's a patch or enhancement pack floating around that should fix most of the problems, but maybe not all of them.

I'm going to play over the weekend before deciding if I want to keep or not.

The new one, the complete official game. I tracked down Enhancement Pack 1 which fixes 45 of the bugs ( simply download and it will update itself)

http://www.cecilashitey.com/cmworld/news/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=2

It's not all doom and gloom though. I started a game with Barca ( chosen from 39 national leagues availble , including US A League and D3-Pro-League). The training section is greatly enhanced, with options such 5 -a -side games, cross country runs, shadow play and weight training, which you can set either in the morning and afternoon for each day of the week.

The 2-D match view is fun , but could get annoying as it takes time to load up , however you can disable it. There's other stuff like being able to take control of your U-19 side and you recieve more feedback from the fans, players and agents.

The only real complaints are the speed of the game, and the fact that there are some many glitches, but over the next couple of weeks there will be plenty of patches availble over the net or with magazines that should solve the problem. With every new CM game it takes time to adjust.

PS Theres also a little known wunderkid by the name of Freddy Adu who was my first attempted signing but Fenerbache beat me to him.

This happens to me sometimes. I've built up quite the squad as well -- however, I am playing with Peterborough. Naturally, some players want to play for a "bigger" club (though in my game I've won the EPL the past 4 years and the CL the past 3.) Whenever they ask, I just let them go on the transfer list and use the money to develop someone else (this just happened to my star striker who was 3rd place in Euro player of the year.) However, when I was playing with San Jose (club just before), DeRosario asked to be transfer listed as he wanted a new challenge. Then we won the US Open Cup and MLS Cup, and he changed his mind and decided he wanted to stay.

What I have a harder time with is selling players. For some reason, teams hardly approach my guys. I usually buy real cheap and develop, so I still make a profit, but sometimes I sell them for half their transfer cost.

yeah, it's quite frustrating...and then someone like Real Madrid drops $50million on someone like Saliou Lassissi or something....
