In light of their current financial crunch, I've just taken control of York and hopefully I can get them into the top flight within 5 or 6 years.

My best ever CM moment was taking the US to a 3rd place finish in WC 2002. This was on 01/02. I was playing a 4132, with all 3 MCs moving moderately forward.

Currently I've got Valencia in the UEFA Cup semifinals and 2nd in the league in my first year. I've got 43 million pounds to spend, so next year I expect nothing less than the CL semifinals and winning the league.

Chicago Fire:

World Club Champions: 2005, 2007, 2009

United States:
[Arena fired in late 2005, I was hired]
World Cup Quarterfinals: 2006
World Cup Champions: 2010

Beat Italy 3-1 in the 2010 final despite Steve Cherundolo being sent off in the 9th minute. Landon Donovan scores twice, Michael Lalas (fake player, target forward) tallies to put US up 3-0.

Real players who played in the final:

Nick Rimando, Nelson Akwari, Carlos Bocanegra, Steve Cherundolo, Evan Whitfield, Santino Quaranta, Landon Donovan, Ben Olsen (veteran off the bench).

Mathis was no longer effective, Josh Wolff was but blew out his knee playing in France before the Cup (he and Mathis have just retired so I'm waiting for their regens, I have Reyna's already). John O'Brien got injured during the group stage. (Funny, his replacement at D-Mid plays for Rochester so the Raging Rhinos had a player playing for the World Cup champs). DaMarcus Bealsey made the squad but wasn't as good as the CG Left Winger I used.

Akwari and Donovan were the big stud players for the team.

Donovan has 69 caps and 35 international goals.
Wolff had 49 caps and 47 international goals.
Quaranta has 20 international goals.

Mathis is off the DB now, but he had like 34 international goals. Scored 4 times in WC 2006.

All thanks to the Wonderful WWW2 tactic I downloaded.

I'd post screenshots, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Only problem I saw was that it doesn't appear to me there's a "grow the game" type function where the kind of success the Fire and USA have had internationally leads to increased fan numbers in the USA and better players being generated. Seems like if a country has better players than you in 2002, they will in 2012 as well regardless of events.

Here's a link to a site with a crapload of CM tactics that WWW2 is on. It really does do wonders and does have one pair of wide players (wingbacks) too.

http://www.welshwebwizard.co.uk/tactics_centre/cm/23311.asp

Again, this tactic WILL work. In MLS it becomes a bit of a problem because most decent strikers you put up top will score 40+ in a full season, and be off to Europe shortly thereafter.

My top output was 71 goals by Tallan Martin in 38 games. He had scored 38 more in 16 games the following year (scored 6 in one game against the Galaxy) before Celtic finally came in and put a 12 million dollar halt to proceedings. He was 22 at the time. Martin had already stated he wanted to move to a bigger club, and so I figured I'd take the money rather than losing him for nothing when his contract ran up and having him be pissed for the whole time.

Since arriving at Celtic, he's been putting in around 40 a year for them. For whatever reason, in that particular pull of the database, he was the best player in the game, and I got to him first before anyone else.

Basically WWW2 works so well, that the problem becomes that you get bored and want to try and work out a flat 442 or some such thing to make it more realistic.

Mr. Sigames Man,

Could you tell me what the minimum MAC requirements will be for CM4? I know you don't do all of the MAC development but thought you might be willing to take a stab at it.

I have an IMAC G3500 with 768 Megs of RAM.

Thanks

To be quite honest I don't really use Mac's so I can't reliably say - at least 64Mb of RAM is a must ... beyond that I couldn't say I'm afraid, sorry.

Thanks If you have 768 MB, I seriously doubt you'll have any problems. That's adequate memory for running Photoshop or Final Cut Pro, should be enough for CM, no matter how advanced the graphics and gameplay are.

I've not used To Madeira yet in many many months of playing CM3 and now I'd like to. But he is always bought by someone before I can find his team anywhere. How can I buy him at the start?

You can find any player, club, coach or nation using the find button on the Menu Bar. He playse for some University Team (Lapis?) in the lower divisions of Portugal. It can sometimes be hard to get him to leave his club, where he is very happy.

Incidentally, To Madeira is a completely fictional player. There was a humorous expose on one of the big cm manager websites (there are thousands out there).

Thanks for the tip. I know To doesn't exist, but I just have to give him a try after hearing all about him.

We've released a tentative schedule which isn't 100% set in stone (basically if something blows up during testing we'll hold the release and fix it ...):

Demo: 14th Feb
Release: 28th Feb

if you're managing a big team, dont bother. i've got him with united...larsson, solskjaer, and ruud all score waaaaaaay more.

i suggest aristizabal to everyone. colomubian, free transfer at the beginning of the game. you wont regret it.

Marc, how do the rosters work?... Will they be updated up to Feb 28, the release date?... Or will the final cut be made the first week or Feb?... Example - Bowyer.... Will he be on West Ham, will Dacourt be loaned to Roma?....
