Anyone know which files you need to zip up to make an update?
I've changes a whole load of information in the start up files, new players, coaches etc... and I'm after which files I need to zip up to allow someone else to download them and use the info?

I'm just warning anyone who edits game data or uses a non-official update that the chances of the game crashing are almost 100%.

Must be nice... I get sacked every time I manage an MLS club, no matter how well I'm doing. Seems like every other manager that gets hired there does, too. (in my game, Arsene Wenger got sacked by LA last month). Almost every team in the league has new managers every year, and my game is six years old so I know. Wonder if that's a bug or just a consequence of jiggering with the pregame settings (all I did was raise the importance of the game in the US to be the same as Italy or England).

Thanks for the link... from what everyone has been saying, I must have lucked out when I bought 00/01; unless my memory is just wrong, I went right to the SI website and ordered it. It arrived two or three weeks later. BTW I lived in South Carolina at the time.

Three one goal losses to end the season! Instead of finishing n 5th or 6th I finished 8th and have to endure the Intr-toto Cup again. All three matches were dominated by my team. I out shot the opposition by 10 or more in all three. I HATE THE SUPER KEEPER!!!
A few things on this:
Hot players usually get hotter over the short-term if nothing changes. Launch enough bad shots at a keeper and his rating will go up. Once it goes up, he starts getting into a groove and just keeps getting better, causing his rating to go up, causing him to get further into the groove, causing... you get the idea. Worse, by stepping up the attack, you end up getting burned by the counter, resulting in the 14-1 shot ratio in your 1-0 loss.. Used to happen to me all the time.
The only way I've found to break the cycle is to be LESS aggressive; go from an attacking stance to normal, or send fewer players forward, go from direct passing to short, something along those lines. You'll get fewer shots, but they will be generally of better quality and even if you miss, you're not pumping up the super goalie anymore.

Here's my Valencia team. Just started my fifthseason on the update version from the excellent Champ Manager Mag, and have won three la liga's, three spanish cups, and one CL.
GK. Buffon(Juve)
DL. Capdevilla (Deportivo)
DR.Paulo Ferria (Porto)
DC. Crosa (Boca)
DC. Ayala
MC.Hamman (Liverpool)
MC.Aimar
MC.Kavaladze (Milan)
AML. Reyes (Seville)
AMR. Joaquin (Betis)
FC Cavanghi (River Plate)- scored 206 goals in 226 games and is only 22. Definatly the best player on the update version.
Does anybody know a sure fire way to get players promoted from the youth system ? I fancy turning Valencia in to the Lisbon Lions. A local club for local players.

Sorry about all the many posts in a row, but I just found this thread and it's about one of my favorite topics.
I started out the current game with the intention of running Man U. into the ground, which I did so successfully that they still haven't recovered (six years later). I sold the players for peanuts and signed a roster full of nobodies for outrageous transfer fees, ridiculous wages, and long-long term contracts with enormous minimum release clauses. I lasted only 3 months before my sacking (I think the 16-0 loss to Newcastle broke the camel's back), but somehow gained enough reputation to land a job at Stoke.
In the time since, Stoke has been promoted twice and has won everything there is to win besides the Champion's League. Man U was relegated that first year, then hired back Sir Alex and got promoted. They went bankrupt more times than I could count but finally came out of it. Sir Alex retired last year. Without him, they are bottom of the table and probably doomed to relegation this year.

Damm this Demo Version.
I took the Blackpool Job. Ehhh things are progressing. Offered 28,000 pounds to Rio Ferdinand. He declined. Stupid Overpaid Stars. Offered Steven Gerrard a record signing at Blackpool of 1,800,000 pounds. He Declined. They should get back to when the game was fun, not a business.

Maybe free drinks and three squares a day would help, heck even throw in a TESCO value club card.

The best part of the game is finding the hidden gem. A player you have never heard of and turning them into a star. Unles syou are one of the big clubs the top star players will not join your club. That makes the game fun. The only fustrating thing about it is when you need one named star player to give you a real shot in euro. I found that fustrating.
As I posted before I took Blackpool to EPL championship and am currently late in the CL all without a named player.
My goalkeeper is only 19 years old and is incredible. The best 1.25 million I have ever spent.
