I've finally got it all sorted on the new computer. I have my tactics again, the screen is normal etc.

York City have won the UEFA Cup under my management., and finished in the Champion's League spots. I must be a genius. :)

Is there any way to manually set the figures for bonuses etc. I click on the plus/minus sign and my new p/c is so fast I can't get ti to stop where I want it to.

I have the same problem. I just got a new PC with Win XP and its a pain trying to fine a player one weeks wages because it is right in between official warning and two weeks fine. I click on it and it goes right to two weeks fine and when I click again it goes back to official warning.

I wish my PC was that fast ;)

Seriously though this will be rectified in CM4, it wasn't really a problem until the most recently released PC's became available.

Is it possible to use the editor to make the players coming out of a particular country better? If so how would I go about doing it?

Players 'regenerate' (ie. their data is reused by new players once they retire) so if you want a particular country to have better players after a few years add in some players with high potential but low ability who are old, they'll retire after a year or two and be replaced with new enthusiastic youngsters ...

(alternatively to make them good now, simply add in good players obviously)

I designed the GUI code for CM3 around 5-6 years ago .... back in the days when a Pentium 60Hz machine was considered quick and 16Mb of RAM was a lot ....

Oddly enough at that point the thought of the GUI running 'too quickly' hadn't hit me ;)

Yeah yeah, and 640k of ram is more then we'll ever need.

whats the furthest anyone has gone on the game?

My furthest is the 2030/2031 season it was getting wierd by then because USA had won 2 worlds cups, Sampdoria had one the champs league 6 times in a row, the FA cup had been been won by Bournmouth 3 times when they were in Div3 and the two biggest teams in the premiership were Wigan and Forrest Green.

Oh how i hope this will happen someday.

Few things......

Can you edit what the media says?
Can you make them ask things more often (even if your a small club)?

Furthest I got was 2022-23......it was well wierd though. Ryan Giggs was Man Utd manager but they were in Div1, a guy called David Henry scored 44 goals in the Prem (he was like, 21) and the USA had won the WC on mine also.
I cant get past Christmas recently.....I want the new one NOW!

Is there any way I can look at EVERY player who is on a Free?
Is Kennedy Bakir....something-something (Hammarby, AM/F RC) a legend or what!?

During testing we run 'soak' sessions where the game runs freeform for several days, these regularly get up to around 2500 or so ..... and have suitably surreal situations in them ;)

If you look on the sigames.com messageboards you'll see several threads from people who have done similar things in order to recant tales of the unexpected ... :D

I'm a recent CM addict. In my first game I've assumed the helm at English Conference minnows Forest Green. They're so poor that my first decision was to sell a player, to keep the budget in the black.

This didn't help team morale very much. :)

If you're playing in the Conference, it's a kick to check in at the BBC web site and read about these obscure Conference players in real life:

I just had something happen that hasn't happened in any game I played before. I'm managing Leeds in 2004 and Mark Viduka(who wants a better contract and is transfer listed at his own request) punched a guy in the face during a match. Naturally, I fined him one weeks wages for violent behavior. Viduka, unhappy with this, files a suit against Leeds for the unfair treatment against him under the "Just Cause Clause". Two weeks later and he wins and is released by Leeds. Weird.

Jeez. If, in your game, Woodgate and Smith go into a bar, I'm renouncing atheism.

?????? Strange! Can't wait to hear the explanation for this one. In my year 2004 Viduka has started with 8 goals in 7 matches and has been hailed by a "leading retired football player."
Too bad he's not on my team...

There are quite a few things in the game like this, that exist in real-life but are very very rare.

The 'Just Cause Clause' has so far only been involved by one player (step forward Mr. Ginola) and in that case the club and player came to an agreement before the situation escalated to tribunal/court.

We try to ensure that the game is as 'complete' a simulation of the soccer world as possible :)
