I believe I read somewhere that the ideal number is two areas b/c if they are involved in three or more it takes away from the effectiveness.

"it's a pain in the ass to try putting up players for transfer. NOBODY takes them! this isn't lik eother games where teams just snap em up.
Maybe i'm getting the basics wrong, should i lower the asking price first before transferring? or should i leave that alone?"
It depends upon the player.

If the player is still playing first team football and generally performing well then its fairly likely that other teams will come in for him at (or above) his asking price. This is simply because he's in the 'shop window' so to speak and teams can see what he can do.

If the player has been rotting in the reserves for a long time then you'll either have to drop his asking price in order to attract interest or give him some first team football (either in your club or by putting him on loan elsewhere).

Also bear in mind that while a club might be 'interested' in a player his wage demands might put them off. If the player you're trying to shift is currently on a $90k/week contract then there are probably only a small handful of soccer teams in the world who could afford his salary demands - regardless of his 'asking price'.

I got mine from eBay (actually sister and brother-in-law got it for me as a Christmas gift).

I know there are independant gaming sites that sell it via mail order, but I've lost all my bookmarks. Amazon.uk won't ship to the US. I'm sure someone here can get you a link or two, actually I think there's a couple posted above.

I'm hoping CM 4 makes it to shelves in the States, but not counting on it.

Easiest way to purchase the newest version of CM in America is to buy via download from:

Hope this helps,

I lost to Crewe on penalties with Palace in the First Division playoff finals...and then the game froze on me when I hit continue after the final whistle. What a bummer ;) Had to replay the match and won 2-0 and promotion!

What exactly is a work permit?

A work permit is just that, a permit to work in the UK. You have to apply for one if you don't have any English, Irish, or Scottish ancestry.

Or come from an EU member nation.

As a typically bitter Evertonian, just wanted to know why Wayne Rooney shows hardly any improvement in his stats?
He seems to get stuck on 6 for shooting :(

Or more strictly signatories of the Schengen agreement.

The work permit thing can be a stumbling block, as shown recently with the signings Juninho to M'Boro and Tino Asprilla to Darlo (even though he ran away, LOL!)

One thing I find is handy is when players have a second nationality. I bought Andres D'Alessandro for Liverpool, and his 2nd Nat. was Italian........no WP needed. If your an English club, for instance, and you search for players with EU nationality, some non-EU players will show because of this. Lots of Argentine and brazilian players have it.

The Wayne Rooney thing sucks, I know.

Chill out, my god.

Just being anal, but :

Should I be the one to point out that ripping a tag
off a mattress is illegal for the seller only? We owners of the damn thing can do whatever we want with it (Although setting it aflame and dropping it 26 floors out a window is not recommended)

Also - I'm reading this post to find out about stratagies hints, etc... for CM 01/02, can we please get back on topic (I'm only at pg.11, if I get to 16 and see it has been, great.)

I just bought a new computer and installed my CM onto it. I'm using the same monitor I have always used, but the game no longer fills the screen. The left side is about an inch and half away from the full screen, and looks bowed. THis is a minor thing but it's very annoying. How do I fix it?

Secondly, I want to move my saved game files from my old p/c to the new one. Now that I have York City into second positon in the Premiership, I want to see if I can win it all! Help please.

If it the same with 'windows' itself - if so I'd suggest checking the monitor for settings to shift the picture around (many allow the picture to 'bow' or otherwise which would explain the distortion as well).

Easy, simply look for a .sav file with the name that you gave your save game - cut it onto a CD and then copy it onto your new PC .... you're now good to go.

It's only with Champ Mgr that I am having the problem. :(

Thanks for the other info, I'll give that a try.

I got the screen figured out, and my saved game files moved, but...

Now the tactics can not be saved or loaded. I don't see a tactics folder at all. I transfered the tactics over but still no luck. Grrr....

You need to type the new directory in the load tactics screen. Most likely your old directory is still there.
