Hey guys, does anyone know the name of the referee of the Brazil and Guatemala friendly wenesday night in Sau Paulo? The idiot gave Romario a yellow card for taking his shirt off to celebrate when it is his last game of his career i think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't really fault the referee for doing so. It's been expressed quite clearly that they are expected to give a compulsory caution if the shirt is removed. It would reflect badly on them, particularly in their match assessment, if they did not, in fact, do so.

Any guesses on whether or not the yellow would have came out if Romario already had one?

When Tim Cahill of Everton got a second yellow for pulling his shirt over his head last year there was outrage that a player could be dismissed for celebrating a goal. One of those expressing his disbelief was Sepp Blatter, presumably no relation to the Sepp Blatter who presided over the IFAB meeting where a mandatory caution for removing your shirt was instituted in the first place.
Of course, since then we've had clarification of what constitutes removing your shirt, clearly a tricky act to define yet vital to the future of the game as we know it.
