Francis Jeffers scores all three goals in the England U.21 win against Macedonia tonight. 3 - 1 the final score.
Matches his hat trick against Watford Reserves the other week. He is "banging them" in regularly, but can he make the "big jump" up to the first team?
Should he go to Man. City for the £3m that Kevin Keegan is prepared to pay for him? Would we be letting him go too early, maybe like Andy Cole some years ago?

Let him go. I was never convinced of Fran's worth anyway.

We can do without those glass ankles and it'll free up the #9 shirt for me next season!

I've always been impressed by his intelligent play when he has got the chance to play in the first team. Five goals in two U21 internationals plus five in three games in the reserves is a good tally by anyones measure. If he can just steer clear of injury he could be a great understudy to Henry. I felt sorry for him when he came on against Sunderland as the team had stopped playing by then.

I must admit that I was not too "over excited" when we signed him. It's the injury thing that put me off (especially for the fee involved), and I think those thoughts still hold true. You don't really buy a car for "top dollar" if it's not working properly! A "fixer upper" you accept if you get it cheap, and then spend time working on it to get it right.
I know that he has age on his side, but you either "sideline" him for a prolonged period until he is 100% fit, and then play him, not "half way measures".
I never thought of him in the category as the "fox in the box" that Wenger was seeking in the mould of Robbie Fowler. Although I think he is past his "sell by" date now.
In the long run a good move not to get him.
In the lung run? A good buy for Jeffers.
"Arsene knows best"! (Or does he in this particular case?).
