ok so we all know about freddy and his achivements

4th place in the 1997 copa america
won the sudamericana
won the recopa

Carlos Picerni is the boss of the youth divisions

and bolillo qualified ecuador to their first ever world cup

those 3 are the 3 names being mentioned

click on other if you think none of these 3 are good enough

i didnt include oblitas because, the chances of that are 0

i voted for freddy

as long as he is not fired if he fails to qualify, he needs to start his own process

we have to give him time to build something

ternero is the logical choice for now

I would like ternero, but would not dismiss the idea of bolillo being the coach.

Anybody but bolillo!

Why not bolillo, if he can get a bunch of monos to the WC, why wouldnt he get talented players to it?

Ternero.

I like Ternero, but with 5 games left its going to be very hard for him to continue into the next WCQ. Lets face it, it was already looking bad to qualify and now its not any better even if Autori its not the coach.
I think we can give the team to a young coach with knowledge like Mosquera, franco navarro (although he is very inconsistent), or Valencia. That way Ternero will not get burned and he can start from scratch for the nex qualifiers.
Piercini, please have you seen the U-17 play, they have no tactics,no discipline. He can't handle kids, he won't be able to handle adults.

Dude, monos going to the WC was inevitable. Him or any schmuck could've done it. Monolandia has been playing with the same team for over 2 World Cups... it was just a matter of getting a coach that would let them keep playing as they always were. Bolillo had nothing to do with their WC appearances, trust me.

Hmm interesting... another name to take consideration in is Cesar Menotti. He was just fired by Independiente. This guy always sweated Peruvian futbol. His admiration for our futbol could be a great excuse to get him. I mean, he's not the greatest of coaches... but he might be able to do something different.

yes. Menotti loves peruvian football. He admires it and he says he still follows it any chance he gets. El flaco has always been a true admirer. IMO, he is a great coach. A perfect tactician. His age is the big problem. He's a candidate in my book.

I saw on Peru.com that they wanted chemo as coach or were considering him? Are they on crack? :D anyway, Ternero should be the coach.

Menotti is a legend, I'd love to have him.

His coaching philosophy- offensive, moderate pace, ball on the the ground- are well known. Followers of this school of play- "menottistas" - include Angel Cappa, Ricardo Lavolpe, Valdano and I think Hector Cuper.

The counter to this, the "bilardistas" (for Carlos Bilardo) play defensive, hack 'em up futbol.

A few years ago Menotti said he could never coach a South American team because when they played Argentina he'd always want Argentina to win.

And yes it's comical that Picerni is even mentioned as a possible replacement.

Hector Cuper plays with 9 defenders.

I said someone else but not because those people suck. I agree that Ternero is the best coach of the ones above but not for this team. He will definitely be burned like Uribe if we don't qualify which unfortunately is the logical result thanks to our inconsistent team.

I think for the remainder of the qualifiers a peruvian should coach it. Mosquera might be the one to do it, or some other coach who if he does get burned won't be as big of a deal as if it happens to Ternero. Yes, it might be a mean thing to do but who knows maybe this guy surprises everyone (like Valencia did in SC a few years back).

Gomez???? El bolillo gomez? the one that lead Ecuador to their 7-0 loss against Brazil's B team in the Copa America??

All the FPF needs is $$, i am supremely confident that that is all it takes. Sorta like when the militares took control and slapped down 1M.

El cholo is so ungrateful to futbol, if it wasnt for futbol, he would have never gone to the U.S

Ternero, as long as he gets a deal that carries him for the next 4 plus years.... In Peru Fed's case, almost impossible.....
