Ternero. Anyone??
Maybe, if they offer to let him stay regardless of what happens this WCQ. He has clearly said before that he wants to start his own process. But at the same time all the people that "manage" peruvian futbol should be gone too because it is also their fault for being useless. :D

Say it aint so...this cant be true. Actually this aint that good, who going to want to clean his mess. Now its like a rushed situation, hope they make the right selection. I wasnt saying this before, but I'll it now....We still have a chance to qualify to Germany.

Mmmm, yeah I'd say Ternero too. If not, Valencia has also impressed me even though he has very little experience. Whoever it is it better be a Peruvian, I'm sick of foreigners coaching our NT.

LIMA, Peru, April 25 (Reuters) - Paulo Autuori quit as coach of Peru's national soccer team days after being hauled before lawmakers to discuss his $30,000-a-month salary.
"The Peruvian Football Federation and Mr Paulo Autuori de Mello have, by mutual consent, decided to rescind the contract ... with no obligation ... to pay any compensation," it said in a statement.
The Brazilian's resignation comes amid an investigation by lawmakers into the Football Federation's financial affairs which raised the question of whether his salary - about 150 times the average minimum wage - represents good value for money, given Peru's poor results on the pitch.
In their most recent World Cup qualifier, Peru were held to a 2-2 draw by Ecuador after an astonishing late miss that dealt a severe blow to Peru's ambitions of reaching their first World Cup since 1982.
Peru are seventh in the 10-nation South American group, with 14 points. Argentina lead the table on 28 points and reigning champions Brazil are second on 24.
Autuori, who has been in charge of the Peruvian team since 2003, declined to answer lawmakers' questions on Friday in Congress.
"I consider it unjustified that I am called for questioning about a private matter like my contract," he said in a statement read to the legislators.
"It is an offense to me to have been called in this investigation. The contract with the Peruvian Football Federation is in line with international standards. Therefore I have nothing to say," he added.
The Federation slammed lawmakers' attempt to submit Autuori to "humiliating and aggressive questioning."
"Asking someone how much they earn is an insult ... any coach would be annoyed by that type of thing, by having to discuss things that are not to do with football," striker Nolberto Solano, who plays for English club Aston Villa, told RPP radio.
Autuori's departure was the second by a South American coach in four days after Chile's Juvenal Olmos was fired on Thursday after a furious phone row with the head of the football federation.
Autuori's career includes coaching stints at Portugal's Benfica and Maritimo Funchal as well as Cruzeiro, Flamengo, Botafogo and Santos in Brazil.
It was not immediately clear who would succeed Autuori. Peru's next World Cup qualifier is against Colombia on June 3.

Trust us Peruanos to ******** everything up... I mean seriously, their are like 6 games left in the WCQ why cant we hold onto the coach until the end and then get someone new if we were not satisfied?

HOLY ********ING $HIT!
whoa! so damn unexpected!
Just shows how there are some shady dealings within the federation. And it didn't take much for him to quit either... he figured he didn't give a $hit after all and leave before they find some shady $hit and ruin his image as a pro coach.

Anyways, I don't know whether to be happy or upset... so damn unexpected. Either way I think there was a need for change anyways... still doesn't sink in that Peru doesn't have a coach though.

Now what? Well it's either Ternero or the FPF buys "Ciego" Oblita's contract from LDU and takes over. Most likely it will be ternero though.

Wow, still doesn't seem real.

terrible timing indeed.

if ternero does take over and does an ordinary job with the remaining games, people might not see him as a suitable coach for the next campaign. whoever the coach is, he has to do what recent coaches have been unable to do and that's make these guys play as a team. one that was able to do that was oblitas but under the circumstances ternero will most likely take over our NT.

Let me throw down a basketball analogy.

Back in the early nineties, Michigan University had a basketball team with nothing but freshmen. They were called the "fab five".

Two weeks before the NCAA tournament started their headbasketball coach was fired. The interim coach proceeded to take that team all the way to the Championship game. Why? The coach later said I trusted in their ability and tried not to coach too much.

In other words he just let the players play.

No matter who comes in to fill in the gap. I feel thats what will happen with the remaining qualifying games. Peru is just going to come out and play. And play beautiful they will.

Thats a great analogy, what i'm saying is there is more than enough weapons on this team to scare the schitt out of any team left for us to face, now its up to a coach with just brains and balls to use the weapons on the field.

even if the new coach is either ternero or oblitas, I dont think that they will do much in these qualifiers, maybe they will bench some oldies like chorri, soto, ibanez...but the rest of our squad will be the same, especially up front since its the best we have...they might even use villata, rodrigez, acasciete, etc but in the end it will be pretty much the same team that autuori fielded...i think that it was rather stupid for them to fire autuori at this point in time since he was starting to come around and actually field some of our youth talent(vargas, cominges, guerrero, etc).

what do you guys expect out of the new coach???
-radical change:field a whole different squad,try diff formations,experimenting
OR
-similar procces:keeping most of autuori's recent squad and a few changes

which would you prefer?

lets be brutally honest

say they give the job to a peruvian, in a year or so the press and most of the fans will be calling for a foreiner to take over

we have seen it happen so often in the past

we had oblitas people wanted an extranjero
we had maturana people wanted a peruvian
we had uribe people wanted an extranjero
we had autori people want a peruvian

even if ternero takes over hell go from respected to insulted, oblitas did and he to was once the golden boy of peruvian tecnicos

markarian didnt want the job because he knew what we were like
