Finally got myself a Mac - 12" Powerbook (for home use, I do use an old G3 iMac at work occaisionally). Very nice, beautiful keyboard.
I'm not a novice but there are a few things that I wouldn't mind a word of advice on.
1. Firefox - Where do I copy my bookmarks.html file from my PC into so that all my bookmarks show up?
2. Firefox/Safari - How do I make Firefox my default browser? On the PC version it has an option in Preferences but I can't find it on OSX. I have nothing against Safari but I'd rather it didn't pop up when I click on a link in MSN Messenger.
3. Show screen - A keystroke that pushes all open apps away from the centre of the screen. What is it?
I'm sure I'll think of more :)

I'm sure I'll think of more :)1. I'm not sure about this, actually. But check Home > Preferences > Application Support > Firefox
2. Open Safari and go to Safari > Preferences. (I know, silly)
3. Open System Preferences on your dock or via the Apple Menu, go to Expose
Let me know how that works.

1. Not so difficult after all. Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks - File -> Import.
2. Doh! Didn't think of looking there.
3. Sweet. Looks great :)
Cheers.

Well, I don't think too many people think to look in Safari when they want to use something other than Safari. It's the same deal with Mail - if you want to use Eudora or Entourage, you have to open Mail first. Kinda ass backwards.

Some of my avi files don't play in Quicktime. Do I need any codecs?

I generally use VLC (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/14738) for files that aren't .mov format. That has most of the codecs you'll need.

Good old DivX usually works for me.

Yes, being lazy. Sorry. I did actually have a quick look around but wasn't sure about putting any dodgy software on my nice new shiny Mac :)
VLC looks like its done the job though.
Cheers.
