I guess that I might be the only one, but it is great to see the return of Sunderland, even if it is only for a moment. Congratulations to the club on their promotion.

i like sunderland. I wish west ham and leeds came up too. From a neutrals view, the premiership lost a lot of derbies when those 3 went down. I dont really care for palace, norwich, southampton and portsmouth. Oh, and I want west brom to stay up too. :D

7 posts. Yah - I have to space them out. I mean ' come on... That is over 1 posts a year.' How many ideas do you expect a guy to have, and I would hate to see you bored by my observations.
Regardless, I fell for Sunderland when my wife attended their university. A year in the Premiereship sounds like a lot of fun. Who knows? They might be able to survive for more than three years this time around. I have my fingers crossed.
Finally, it was an excellent counter-attack game on Friday. West-Ham is not much of an opponent, but a win is a win.

Is there any reason, besides proximity, for the venom between Sunderland and Newcastle?

Right. When we play the SMB's next season, our team should be capable of beating a buntch of stupid Makam's.

Yeah. There is one about every town in England. Same words but you just change the towns name.

I think we got a fail chance of stayin out of the bottom 3, seein as McCarthy is a good manager [what a coincidence; my last name is McCarthy too!] and we got a good squad, what with Gary Breen in defense, and Marcus Stewart and Stephen Elliot are excellent strikers.
It's too bad that Jan Koller turned down an offer to play at the Stadium of Light, but I guess he thinks that he can go bigger, although he's getting old.
On that note, what's the deal with Borussia Dortmund; I heard they filed for bankruptcy?? But IDK.
Yeah, we have a good team and Bob Murry says that Mick has his list already made of what players he wants to buy this summer, but the size of the kitty is undisclosed.
I bet well finish somewhere around 15-17-ish, but I bet guys from bigger clubs are gonna get a chuckle out of that statement.

Not if you have McCarthy as manager - just look at what he did with Ireland in the 2002 WC Qualifiers. He is one of the best motivators in the country, is pretty tactically astute, can get a great team spirit going and can honestly get Sunderland to stay up this year - hell, after the Championship playoff match on Monday I'm putting money on both Sunderland & Wigan to stay up - reckon I'd get decent odds & think it's very possible.
