Lets get it on!!

I wonder if we might see Duff at LB.........that'd be interesting, since Gallas could move to RB where he's better.

Man, if Duff is the solution for our defensive problems, that'd be quite the shock. Seriously, I think getting Bridge or Ferreira back would have actually been more beneficial than getting Robben back. Our defensive leakiness is my biggest worry as far as our success in the CL goes. I can't believe I'm saying that considering our early season defensive strength, but this is what happens when you don't have a single experienced fullback.

2-0. JT on a corner and Robben on a wonder run.

Yes, i fancy 2-0 myself.
That would be enough to see us through as they won't stop us scoring at Anfield.

don't know. I would want to see Robben start on the left and Cole on the right. Give Duff some rest, but I'm sure Jose knows best.

Robben will have only played 45 mins since coming back from injury, (again!!!). I tend to think he'll start with Cole and Duff and bring on Robben for whoever isn't playing particularly well but, as my mate yasik says, we'll see what the expert says.

Should be a great game anyway.

I wouldn't like to guarantee a win in either game for us but I think we'll go through. We've been shown to be difficult to beat over two games.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Cole start with Robben on the bench.
Robben is far more valuable to us in the second game, when we'll need a weapon against Liverpool pressure. There is currently no better weapon on the counter in the world than Arjen Robben.

more dangerous than a steak knife on the counter.

Duffer didn't look so bad back there... I'm constantly amazed at how much I enjoy watching Duffer and Robben play off each other. Gives me goosebumps. ;)

i doubt duff will actually start the game at left back,if at all he'll play in that position all night.moveing him there in the fulham game was a gamble worth takeing due to our massive point lead in the league.the game against liverpool will as we all know,be a differant story all together.it's not worth the risk in this case unless it's the only solution to some unforseeable problem,i.m.o.

^My family is from Cork *blushes* :p

As long as we don't concede I'll be extremely happy. Even 0-0 and I think the tie is over. 4-4-2 at home, then 4-3-2-1 away. I can't help to feel confident but we all know how difficult it's going to be.

Boys in Blue gotta stick together in times of need. Beat the 'Pool! And I don't mean simply win. I want them crushed. Demolished. Broken.

I see your point, but from what I saw, Damien stuck in there and looked pretty damn strong. If anything, I think he gave away posession a bit too much with some bad passes. But I do see your point - don't want a repeat of his shoulder again. :(

Our defense will have to be very tidy. Gallas, Johnson, and Carvalho are all only one caution away from being suspended for the second leg. We can ill afford to lose even one of them.

Oh God I do love you. If there's one poster other than Ise_bashis that I can't stand it's Russian Scouser.

Onto the game, I don't see how we don't win this game by three goals. I saw 3-0 to Chelsea. No Morientes, no Baros (I think). I can't see them scoring. And with Robben back, I don't see us putting a bunch on the board.

Good luck to Chelsea, right now you guys have something like 10 millions or more supporters in the Portuguese people, so since this is an English duel alot of supporters in England are divided but here in Portugal you certainly have a nation rooting for your success
