What can be done to raise attendance levels in the stadiums?

I think we can all agree that the attendance numbers in Peruvian soccer stadiums is relatively low, compared to other countries in the region. The only respectable team (attendance-wise) I think is Cienciano. The only games with a decent attendance are the clasicos, and even still, they are disgraceful. I think it is embarrasing to see a 75,000 seat stadium(Monumental) have no more than 1/8 of it's seats filled.

So what do you guys propose can be done, if anything to bring the people back into the stadiums?

Just a quick thought. Those post conference girls they have in those tights looking good, can be included in the halftime shows for one. I'm sure they'd sell more ticketes.

I dont mean to be an A-hole, but the only way is to play better soccer, and for the players in our league to act like pros and not be drunks who get aids from going to nightclubs everyday...

There's no being in a-hole, in the truth. I guess that you have a point, but I'm not quite sure that alone would lure the fans back to the stadiums.

I think personnaly that it is due to the lack of star-power. Most of our great players are sent away to Europe as soon as they are discovered. And the ones who are decent-to-mediocre, are sent to other leagues.

I don't think that the ticket prices has much to do with it, if they go any lower, the teams would probably file for bankruptcy,

we must change the format of the league. there are too many matches and too many clasicos so people get bored

in other countries the teams meet each other only twice during the year once at home and once away in the peruvian league there are 4 superclasicos between la u and alianza each year.

i'd say we must have a normal league format with one game per week and only 2 superclasicos a year. with one game per week there will also be more time for training and correcting the everpresent weaknesses of peruvian players like physical built, stamina, tactics etc...

problem with a normal league format is that we only have 13 teams

we need at least 16 teams

People want to see PERUVIAN FUTBOL, and now we play that long ball $hi.. To raise attendance you need a couple of players that can bring the good old peruvian touch back. The other way is to have the "U" in first place. Nobody will bring more fans to a game than a "U" match. Anybody seen the last "U"-SC game 20,000+ in a mid week game.
