SuperBob played in a specially arranged friendly against QPR last night, a 5-1 win. He scored a goal and set up another.

In a "specially arranged" game with QPR, which Arsenal won by 5 - 1, Robert Pires completed a full 90 minutes coming through without any problems and scored a goal as well. No date or game yet set as for a full return EPL debut this season.

"Dwinkler". My apologies. I have just put this thread on and didn't realise you had already included it. Don't like uneccessary duplication. "Sorry"!!! Jeff.

I saw Pires play a few times last year and I thought him and Bergkamp were good...I can't even fathom Henry and Pires!!! Wow!

Its good to see him back in some form. I think AW may be slow to bring him into the first team. No real need to rush given the current form. He will probably come on as a sub a few times before he gets to start. Makes me wish I could see this weekends game.

truthfully - the same way. Its not a big game. We wouldn't clinch the title if we won, its not against one of the big teams. Regardless of the result I wouldn't have made a big effort to watch this one.

Pires is back "next week" according to "official sources".
Not quite sure whether that means Auxerre on Tuesday or Blackburn on Saturday. Possibly "a half" on Tuesday, and maybe a full game on Saturday. 3 points is the more crucial.
Also watched the "hnighlights" of the Everton game last night. Only the "wonder goal" separated the 2 teams.
Maybe Everton being "home" might have "won on points".
We had our chances. Maybe more players in European action than Everton might have told.
Still, it's hard accepting the view of not seeing us "at the top of the tree". Maybe by Saturday!

I agree with Jeff. It is odd to not see Arsenal at the top of the table. However, Arsenal played well enough on Saturday to beat Everton. Clearly, Rooney's spectacular goal was the difference. I am confident that Arsenal will bounce back. I have been impressed by their control and confidence this year. One point tomorrow and Arsenal should clinch a spot in the 2nd group stage of the Champions League. I am very excited that Pires is coming back. Last season, he was unbelievable to watch. I miss him on the pitch. Go Gunners!! They have a tough match on Saturday against Blackburn. Look what they did to Newcastle on Saturday.

If Pires is truly 100% than Auxerre at Highbury is a good starting point. I believe that Blackburn is a truly talented MF and could spell trouble for a player coming back to game form after 6 months off.

The Guardian reports that SuperBob is to be in the lineup today against Auxerre.
Unfortunately, for us state-side Gooners we are once again bereft of Champions League coverage of the Arsenal. ESPN is showing some Spanish team instead, as usual...."Real" something or other...
