"The Premier League are considering deducting up to three points from Chelsea over the Ashley Cole tap-up — from the start of the 2005-06 campaign."
...British media trying to stir stuff up, nothing to see here...

Odd. It was reported as fact on the radio. *shrug*
Edit: On Sky news as well.

*wipes brow with relief*
As much as I would hate for it to happen, I could see the Chels being made an example of. It seems as though the FA accepts that this sort of thing happens fairly regularly, and if a point deduction precedent is what it takes to stop it, they may embrace the opportunity to establish one.

I'm not dismissing the story out of hand (it is the middle of the night over there, afterall)...It could well blow up in print by the time you and I wake up tomorrow...
But I'm just trying to see the brighter side of things, that's all..
EDIT:...besides, The Sun says they're only considering it. Knowing them, it could be just as likely that the FA will reward us with three points for all the bovver!

i think the FA just want to spoil our fun of winning the first title in 50 years. They want to take away some joy from Chelsea, but they won't succeed. As far as i'm concerned, .....whether rain or fine, we can shine, all the time." Chelsea will shine regardless of the outcome and we will win the title nex year. :D

I bet some writer had a dart board and he threw one dart and hit the number three and decided to write a story about it

That would be crap. Certainly not in accordance with precedent (fines). We should sue the FA if this happens. But we shouldn't forget the headlines of "Chelsea could be kicked out of Europe" that we had to deal with TWICE this season (CSKA and Frisk incidents) and we saw what happened there. Freaken' exaggerating media.

Since when has the FA ever bothered with following precedent? While I think points deduction is the correct punishment (fine does nothing and transfer embargo is too harsh), I think the FA is only considering this because of the subsequent tapping up of Ferdinand and possibly Gerrard. It might not be right, but they will feel that something needs to be done to punish Chelsea and prove their authority.

Oh oh, Teso has just been given another opportunity to criticize Chelsea's actions. Here we go again.

Oh ******** off. The only proof the FA have of anything is that Ashley Cole's agent set up a meeting to which we went. That's not good enough for a points deduction.
And don't you DARE act holier than thou - your former players have admitted that they were tapped by by SAF, at a time when you were far and away the richest club in England.

Count to 10 nice. Kenyon is the one to blame for all of these "secret" meetings, not me.
