I didn't start following soccer until 2000, so I don't recognize a lot of the names, especially for the lesser teams. What I'm hoping is that people who are fans of the teams can look at this post, and point out if anyone is still an active player from your country, so we can get a definitive list.

None of the Croats that played for Yugoslavia play anymore, I'm pretty sure it's the same with other nationalities in that team.

As far as the Argentines, I don't remember the whole squad, but thinking of the starters, the only one who comes to mind is Roberto Sensini, who is still playing with Udinense. He has announced that he will retire in June. Claudio Caniggia was also playing until recently.

Sensini is at Udinese and Gazza is playing in China somewhere.

but talking about former players, the left back from the uruguay squad from the 1930 world cup has just signed to play in the mls

Who would that be? Nasazzi? Mascheroni?
