2 ex pats and a yank....no it's not a joke. We're making a trip over in a couple weeks and will be in town for the Charlton game. Does anyone have any ideas on getting tickets for it? It would be greatfully appreciated!

Thanks!

Should have joined the US Blues or TX Blues, would have been no problem then.

youve got 2 hopes of getting tickets for that game - unless you're happy to pay about £300-£350 per ticket. If you are, then go here linky (http://www.ticketferret.com/sub_event.php?category=1&event=4&sub_event=7)

Tickets for this game are going to be like gold dust. It is the last home game of the season and therefore always popular but now that we can't win the Premiership at home to Fulham this is hopefully the game that we will be presented the Premiership trophy.

Good luck

No feckin chance mate!!!

I couldn't get tickets for the Fulham or Charlton games, for love nor money, but now they can't win it on Saturday against Fulham, fcuk me with a pineapple if I haven't got a ticket??? Fcukin plastics :(

It was easier to get a ticket for the CL semi, but more expensive than last year!

In saying all this, you will always get a ticket, if you're prepared to pay top dollar, and I suppose, if you're coming all that way, then you are ?

Yep - can't wait to hear all the badmouthing that will come out of this.
Local lads can't get a ticket and people coming from 3,000 to 5,000 miles away are at the game.

Ought to be interesting to say the least.

It already started during an online meeting with Chelsea officials making comments. This was a big trip, around 100 people atleast. I am really afraid though that we'll lose our priority status. As a member, you get priority (over all others) on the purchase of 2 tickets to up to 2 league games a year. That's pretty good for $65. I am sure Chelsea will review that perk though and eventually pull it, there by ensuring I'll never get to a Chelsea game until RA and the plastics leave. I count on my NY Blues membership when I go over. Granted I didn't get to Chelsea this year, I went 2x last year and have made atleast one game every year since 1996. It blows because I am not going to pay like 60GBP to sit in the West Stand Upper where everyone sits and no one sings.

Ah, that adds some light to something i read on the 606 site.
Two London lads were slaming the crap out of some poor sod from New York because he had tickets to the Charlton match and they couldn't get any.

He bought his, so he said anyway, last Summer.

Couldn't make sense of it myself, but he insisted that he had.

They weren't pleased at all and all sorts of names came out.

Eventually the mods pulled the thread.

He's technically full of ********. When you're a member, tickets get released in groups. Ticket requests for these upcoming games had to be in by sometime in Jan (if I remember right). But you can't just sign up in August and request tickets for the last game of the year. Doesn't work that way.

Now, that sounds logical.
Still, he insisted on his dates.

So, American fans, or to be more exact, fans living in America, could buy the Addicks game tickets quite some time ago?

Bet the Blues get a few more members now for next season ;)

I thought some of the US groups had season tickets and then divided those up at the beginning of the year for people who are planning ahead.

Bottom line is that things have changed quite a bit in the last few years and unless you're a member or season ticket holder, you're pretty much out of luck.

Yes. If you put your request in by the date for that game. You are almost guaranteed a ticket. That's why the 100+ US and NY Blues in London now got tickets (very easily I might add) to the Arsenal and Fulham games. They are there now and got a whole section just about to themselves in the East Upper. 100+ people with a ticket to each game.

If he insists on the date, then he didn't get it through the US or NY Blues.

Yeah, I keep meaning to sign up................the problem is I hate making trips JUST for football. There has to be more to it. I went to Barelona for the Chelsea game since I'd never been to Barcelona and northern Spain, and its a cool place. Now that I actually have a bit of cash, I want to travel to places I've never seen but always wanted to go. As nice as the Bridge is, I have to ration my vacation, and I've spent weeks in London already. I think Greece/Turkey are next on my list, although that still leaves quite a few places I want to see.
Now, I've yet to find out if I managed to get that World Cup allocation (bid on all the Italy games up to the final). That'll be a great two weeks if it happens, and I've relatives there and lots of places yet to see. Although who knows - I have friends in London; might be nice to pop in in August.....................

That might be what the "unofficial" groups do. The official ones (US and NY Blues) get them directly from the club.

Looks like you'll soon be in the situation that we have at Arsenal, although it seems that your US clubs have managed to forsee what will happn and get memberships. Arsenal America doesn't have that luxury. Pity really as there are so many Americans who want to go to the games.

By the way, the bloke who posted this thread also posted in the Arsenal forum, i told him to bugger off as he obviously doesn't care which team he see's so he shouldn't take tickets from proper fans. He can go and watch Sp*rs or West Ham or something.

Really?
Um..might have to look into joining that group.

Wouldn't mind a jaunt across for a game (or two) next season.
