It looks like it will be Bayern,Schalke and Stuttgart going to the CL...

Personally I wanted Hertha to qualify because I think they have a much stronger side than Stuttgart but oh well..

I predict Bayern and Schalke going to the round of 16.

Well...it would be nice to have more company in the final 16. I am always baffled by Schalke... I always think they are going to win the league, be more consistent....then they prove me wrong. :o

Bit too early to predict ;), but I don't see a german team in the quarterfinals besides Bayern.

Based on their performance this year in Europe, I don't see Schalke getting out of group play. Stuttgart, maybe. And Bayern, most probably.

BTW, given the result in today's cup game, does Bremen or Bielefeld get the UEFA spot that goes to the cup "winner?" If Bremen gets it, and assuming that Bremen finishes fourth or fifth in the league, does that mean the sixth-placed team at the end of the regular season qualifies for the UEFA Cup spot?

Neither Bielefeld nor Bremen! If both teams playing the cup final are already qualified for UEFA-Cup or CL (which should be the case this year), then the sixth-placed team in the Bundesliga will get that spot (good news for HSV, btw ;))

Same opinion here. Schalke wasnt good in games that mattered, lost against Donezk and Mainz..

Stuttgart did well in the UefaCup, they were a little bit unlucky against Parma. They dont have great attackers though, could be their downfall.

Bayern will have a good season (maybe semi-final or final) if they get a decent defender.

Hertha would be great in Europe...outstanding defense and creative midfield...need a striker though, as usual

Agreed, Ive said it a lot, before Hertha is going to succeed in the CL, we need another stiker for sure. I think for the next season as far as going anywhere, the UEFA Cup is a great place for Hertha, they are right on the brink of being a good CL team, if we can bring in a striker and develop him into the system, in 2 years the CL better look out.

Btw what's with Ilhan Mansiz? I thought Hertha signed him in winter. Is he still injured? Haven't heard anything about him in the last months.

Maybe Hannove would make it to the UI-cup. At least that would mean sold out games for us, I hope them to perform well (Oh well, traditionally German UEFA Cup participants suck :-( )

I think Hertha can still get into the champions league. I think that’s the only way Marcelinho is gonna get a call up for the Brazil NT and he looks determined to do it.

Well, atleast our attackers know how to kick the ball into the net. :p

Back on topic, if Stuttgart qualify, we will definetely make the last 16 - no doubt about it. When it comes to big games, we win. The reason we aren't challenging for the title right now is cause we lost 3 points in Freiburg and Rostock, and gain 1 point from two matches against nurnberg.

Bayern will probably go as far as this year.

Schalke don't seem like a good international side...i'd say they would be third in their group.

If bremen qualifies, i predict a place in the last 16, as they are a good side, and now have experience. Berlin would go out in the first round, they need one year of uefa cup imo before they can do well in the biggest competition in Europe.

Theres seemingly a new injury to him every few weeks...I doubt he will feature this year and he may leave after this season due to Hertha's clause in his contract saying that they can void his contract if he doesn't feature in the team.
