I don't have the time to translate the article below, but it states that the DFL (German Football Federation) has granted Borussia Dortmund an 1. Bundesliga operating license for next season WITHOUT CONDITIONS!!!
"Without Conditions" is a big deal because when the DFL determines that a club is still in serious danger of financial ruin, but still stable enough to complete the next season, they will attach "conditions" to their license. Those conditions usually govern how much that club can spend on salary, transfers, and sometimes other "general operating expenses".
In 1999-2000, Eintracht Frankfurt were docked three points in the standings when they were found to be in violation of the the conditions of their operating license.
Being granted this license "without conditions" is indeed a "big deal" for BVB. It shows that the DFL believes in BVB's restructuring plan.

no conditions, wow. They must have a solid plan or some good freinds, either way, I hate to see a club punished too hard, because it also affects the fans who didnt create the mess. I know it looked bleak for a moment for 1FCK as well, I hope it doesnt affect their transfers.

Solid plan and the fact that no one wants to see the club that has the highest average attendance in European football out of Bundesliga play.
FCK got some slight conditions according to Eric......

I wonder if Borussia got ever worse how many fans would try to help out Borussia financially. Granted their debts would far outweigh a few fans, but if they had a lot of fans, they could get something.
No one wants to see Dortmund go down, not even a Schalke fan IMO. They are too illustrious a club and too popular to go down that way.

Totally agree. This had to play a part in BVB getting a license with no conditions. I think the DFL is trying to give us every chance to get back into Europe next season.

The major factor why we got the licence is that we struck a deal with all our creditors (especially Molsiris). All our debt-related payments are stopped until 2007 IIRC. So we don't have to pay 16 Mio Euro a year for the stadium deal and other repayments. This deal is the major point that more or less guarenteed us the licence. From 2007 on we will see whether we are capable of paying back all the debts - that's the crucial point.

I don't hate Bayern. Do not like them but really don't hate them. In my opinion only Schlacke is our rival and nobody else.
So you must look for someone else being your rival. Maybe your traditional rivalry with 1860...you know, the club FCB is going to share their stadium from next month on! :D

Bayern's "rivals" are whomever might threaten their "superiority" in German football. A "superiority" protected by the league, etc.......

If we can make the UEFA Cup next season and go deep into it and make the CL for the next season, things should be all right in 2007. And, by then, the stadium will help to pay for itself even more.

This is great news for the Bundesliga and Dortmund supporters everywhere. I think that BVB is a foundation club like FC Bayern and good to see Germany circling the wagons and aiding in sustaining a very big money maker.

No conditions is not quite right, we have to show DFL our finanancial progress once in a while, but better than other teams, who e.g. to sell players for more money than spending.
BTW: You just can't live without hating FCBazi and Schlacke :)
