The unofficial thread for those who live behind the Orange Curtain.
Just a little reminder for this match. Bold italics are my emphasis.
The 1st Annual Galaxy/Blue Star Soccer Exhibition Match (Hopefully more to come if neither team folds!)
Date/Time: Tuesday, July 23 @7:30 PM
Place: Santa Ana Stadium (Right next to the County Jail and Courthouse, just in case any hooligans get out of hand.)
Cost per Ticket: $10.00 Adult (18 & over) $7.00 Child
All advanced tickets purchased receives a 2 for 1 voucher to a Galaxy game (What a deal! It truly is!)
Meet the players after the game. (Just don't let the teeny boppers scare some of the players away)
Get your hat or tee-shirt autographed (Or body part, if you're sick like that. Unless you're female, then it's all good!)
Participate in Coach and Referee talks (Ask them why they suck.)
Be on the field at pre-game celebrations (Just don't expect a tailgate. Come to think of it, I don't think they serve beer here! Oh no!)
For tickets information and details please contact the Blue Star Galaxy Reserves on (949) 645 8777 or email us bluestar@bluestarsoccer.com (or just walk up to the gate. I hardly think this will sell out.)

Ah yes, thanks for posting those up too Hanley. The next KCAL broadcast will be a home game (Aug. 17th), however I do not have tickets to that game so I will be at Shooters. The next ESPN2 broadcast (Aug. 31st) will also be a home game to which I have tickets for so I will be at the RB.

Good to hear from some OC fans, thanks for the Bar info, I play on saturdays but I will try to make it as much as I can.
The Bluestars should be good for the Galaxy, I talked with someone over there and they were very nice and helpful.

If anyone is going to tonight's match in Santa Ana, as a traditional Riot Squad rule, we should stand away from the rest of the crowd. If the east side (next to street and courthouse, no chairs) is open, we should go over there and in the extreme corner next to locker room (it's a similar setup to Titan Stadium).

rok,
I'll be there. I don't know the place, but I'm sure we'll manage to link up. I'm assuming that some of the LA based Riot Squad folks will be coming down, but I can't see much heckling going on against the Blue Star players.

True, I can't see much heckling going on either but we might just have someone special tonight. We'll probably just sing pro-G's songs.

Hey Rok,
I saw you at the game tonight, but was unable to get over to the other side. I guess they closed off the gates to that side behind you. Who were the two or three people with you? Riot Squad folks? I heard you guys a couple of times.
Did you see any Blue Star players that may get a shot one day with the big boys? I might keep tabs on them off and on to see if anybody is on the way up. They play in Newport Beach it seems.

Galaxy won 2-1. The G's didn't take the game too seriously though since it's just an exhibition, but the Blue Star seem to play with something to prove, like being called up. I'm kind of surprised by the turnout, probably between 1,500 to 2,000.
Hanley, the other two are Riot Squad regulars, not even from OC. We got to that side by going around behind the scoreboard (side of Civic Center St.). It's tough to see because of the shrubbery, but there is a trail that leads to the other side. It was great because no one was there to tell us to sit down and shut up so we sang and chanted all we want. A few of the Galaxy players also talked with us. Where were you at?

I was sitting between midfield and the goal box on the end of the field opposite of the locker rooms. I saw you folks initially at the corner flag nearest the locker rooms then saw you move behind the G's bench. I was late getting to the game and was told by security that your side had been closed off.

Really? I just wandered over. I first started out at the corner by the scoreboard and then one RSer came and said let's move to the other side so we did without any hassles. I guess you have to be inconspicuous about it, like you know what you're doing and where you're going.

Is that full of anti-all-star sentiment, or what's the deal?

Pretty much. I don't care for any all-star games be it this one, MLB, NBA or Pro Bowl. They're not worth my time watching. I might check out the halftime show with that Paulino Rubio chick, but if I miss it, oh well. I'll see you at the next home game or or next KCAL viewing.

Ape,
Like Rok, I'm not a fan of the All-Star game, but I'd be willing to down a pint or two at the local pub watching the game. I really don't have anything planned for Saturday anyway, so why not?
This is an ABC broadcast and may not be available at The Shamrock. I called over there tonight to ask, but the guy who answered the phone had no idea if he receives ABC and told me to figure it out. He didn't seem at all interested in searching his programming and since I don't own a satellite dish and don't know how to go about this whole process, I guess The Shamrock gets the finger this week. The lunch and the three or four pints of Guinness I was going to order must not have been incentive enough for this jackass to provide some customer service.
So, Shooters at 12:30 pm Saturday day?

I actually enjoy watching the MLS all-star game. None of the others hold any interest at all for me, and I dont' know why I consider this one to be above those, but I do.
So, cl_hanley, I also am up for a couple, few, or several pints at Shooters at 12:30. Anyone else?
