Which begs the question: why doesn't FSC broadcast English language Copa Lib games every once in a while? Rather the the umpteenth replay of the Arsenal-Blackburn FA Cup match, show a Copa Lib group match. These are exciting matches, played by the best clubs in this hemisphere. I know I would watch them.

I've wondered that too, especially given the 1,200 live matches a year garbage they mentioned in the early days of the FSC launch.
I noticed the press release doesn't mention MLS, or even the Mexican league matches for that matter.

Oh, yea. I lost track. Anyone have the latest count?

I watch some of the tournament, even though I don't know a lick of Spanish. I'm learning though, thanks to FSE. Argentine games are also fun, since they are usually shown EN VIVO on FSE.

Because I think the games are shown on FOX's Spanish-language networks throughout the world piggybacking feeds direct from South America. They'd have to do a separate English language graphics and voice-over. Meaning you almost couldn't possibly show them live.
Plus, ratings (as per usual). How many English-language speakers would likely watch Boca or even Chivas (except the folks on this board)? Probably less than a fraction of MLS or even EPL watchers.
At least Bundesliga and Ligue 1 are produced in English through international marketing agencies.

They don't have to do separate English language graphics, how hard can it possibly be to figure out? The only important part, score and time remaining, is universal. And anything that can't be easily discerned Max or whomever is calling the game can explain through.
FSC does voice overs all the time. Shouldn't be too difficult.
I realize the CL times are a bit odd, and I'm not expecting every match live. But I think a couple a week, either live or on short delay, isn't a rediculous request.

They show MLS feeds with dual language graphics and run two commentary streams...this doesn't seem to be an issue. Unless I'm not understanding the full complexity. All we are talking about is a second commentary team. And if they couldn't do it live, delay it for an hour or so....no big deal.

language is not even a deal. They can easily do voice over. The deal here is ratings and that's it. a live game is always better than a 4 day-delayed EPL game or the 3rd replay of an EPL game.

--My cable system just added FSE last week. I was shocked to see actual commercials and not the same Ener-X commercials on a constant loop.

Seems like most of it comes down to Chivas fans tuning in. Any idea what their ratings are for the Argentine league?

Probably not too great. Most of FSE's existence, and that of any Spanish-language sports department's, is predicated on Liga Mexicana and Libertadores/Sudamericana matches involving Mexican teams. Thus ESPN Deportes' troubles and why Univision and Telemundo mostly stay away from anything except Liga Mexicana and CONCACAF qualifiers (package deal including USA and Mexico).
FSE probably does benefit from showing MLB, boxing, and some racing. If they reached more homes, the NFL would probably consider letting FOX put Spanish-language coverage of regular season games there rather than using SAP.
