Could dreamweaver go bye bye and Adobe just rebrand it and call it GoLive instead?

Adobe Studio MX :( That doesn't sound right. :( I hate merger. It should have been taken by Microsoft. The greatest company in the world.. Not Adobe... :(

No, its definately goodbye GoLive... Dreamweaver is a bigger name in the market.
But yeah, the merger sucks... it's basicaly a merger to monopolize that whole sector of the market which means higher prices.

I'm not sure this merger really means much to consumers. Macromedia was online-only, while Adobe was king of off-line publishing tools and had some relatively shoddy online tools. I'm not sure that GoLive was really a viable competitor to Dreamweaver.

There are still some alternatives, and there have been some nice developments in the F/OSS community to provide tools that are competitive in this domain.

I can say this: HOORAY! I have always loved Adobe products, and just barely tolerated Macromedia ones. Hopefully Adobe will crank out the next Flash program, and it will have Adobe-like interfaces that make sense instead of Macromedia "WHERE THE F*** IS THAT DAMN FUNCTION" ones.
