WOW! Well, obviously despite the poor performance on the pitch and the financial troubles, Dortmund remain a very popular club in Germany.
Any thoughts or comments?

It will be even better next season. Just wait and see. The "Return of Borussia Dortmund" is near.

We suck for most of the season and still the fans pour into Westfalenstadion like there is no tomorrow. Maybe I am wrong but I guess this weekend we had again the highest football attendance worldwide (79.400 against bottom-midfield side Bielefeld: 8th vs. 12th) and of course we have again the highest average attendance worldwide. Just amazing.....

The big question is why....are BVB supporters just insanely loyal or is there nothing else to do in Dortmund?

Insanely loyal would be that answer. On any given match day, about a third of the crowd is from outside the Dortmund area.
I lived 5 hours from Dortmund and quite a few from my area would venture up to Westfalenstadion for every match we could.

I live in Berlin and you can't say that Berlin is a boring city. ;-)

Don't think anyone would have implied that. Just that there are other things to do in Dortmund on Saturday than go to the stadium.
But why would you rather do something else than see the wonderful BVB??!! :-) :-) :-)
