It's amazing how many instructional DVDs are pure rubbish or mediocre. I'm interested only in titles that are absolutely worth their weight in gold.

I can't praise these two titles;

-Athletes Performance "Core Performance Soccer" program (DVD & 100+ page booklet). This covers linear/lateral speed, proper acceleration/deceleration/balance drills/quickness drills/rotational stability/self-massage techniques/energy system development... Included in the booklet is a 12 week program and an in-season program. All this for $29. Amazing.

-Reedswain's "Individual Defending"....This should be every defenders bible. The only thing this disc doesn't cover is marking and zone play. Everything else; body position, jockeying, scoop tackling, block tackling, patience, denying the option to pass or shoot, is here... OUTSTANDING DVD.

I'm sure there are materials that you can't give enough praise to. I want to know what they are.

quickness drills

Can you post some of those quickness drills?
-------------------------------------------
-Reedswain's "Individual Defending"

scoop tackling I am not familiar with this term can you post what kind of tackling that is?

block tackling I take it one these is the stand up block tackle.

What about the slide block tackle can you describe how it is done and what it looks like? Not many players use it anymore.

"I'm sure there are materials that you can't give enough praise to. I want to know what they are."

I am not a book reader but have heard good things about "Principles of Brazilian Soccer by Goncalves" Especially the foot communication between team mates part.
