Lyon were good during both legs. The day french teams convert their chances into goals then we'll go a long way. Until then i'm afraid euro cups will keep out of our ways.

Why did we invent this damn cup, it never wants to come back home.

Well lets see what next year's Champions League will hold for French teams. Lyon will be back that is certain. Aulas will do whatever it takes to put the best team possible out there to go far in the competition. Players will leave but they probably will be replaced by good players. I think Lyon can at least make the quater's again and providing who comes and goes from the team there's a good chance they can go further next year. As long as Juninho the magician is still there Lyon will still be good.

After that things are very fuzzy. Lille, Marseille and Monaco are trying to get into the Champions League next year and if Lille gets in I dont think they have any chance of getting past the group stage. If they finish 3rd in Ligue 1 they will have to play a match to get into the final group stage and I dont even think its certain that they will win that. Marseille and Monaco will spend money this offseason to try to win a Ligue 1 title but if they are in the Champions League next year I wouldn't really expect too much from them. I do think they will do better than Lille would if they made it in. Marseille and Monaco should they get in I think will be a good candidate to finish 2nd in their groups and advance to the round of 16. Dechamps signed some bad players this year that didnt fit but you have to have confidence he will correct that next year. Pope Diouf I have no confidence that they will bring in the right players next to make Marseille better.

I dont think Rennes, Toulouse, Auxerre or Sochuax with finish in the top 3 at the end of the season so we wont have to worry about them in the Champions League. So it looks like Lyon again next year will be France's best hope in the Champions League. Marseille and Monaco have the 2nd best chances of advancing far in Europe. Everyone else forget about it.

I have to agree about Lyon for next year. They were unlucky to lose against PSV but I think it will make them mentally tougher in the long run.

I think if they sign Morientes they will be an even stronger team.

They might wanna consider selling Bergougnoux. With Wiltord, Frau, Nilmar coming back and a new guy probably coming in(Morientes,Baros,Dindane,Kalou etc.) their wont be much room for Brian. Its too bad because he showed that he does have talent.

Sell one of their espoirs and keep Wiltord, Frau..

Bergougnoux has been a revelation this year, he could go on to be huge.

What's one man's rubbish is another man's fortune I guess. :(

If you don't like the sea... and don't care for the mountains... and don't like the big city either... go hang yourself!

Or maybe, try the countryside...

If anything Lyon should sell Frau, he has been dissapointing this year rarely making the starting XI.

What's Bryan's primary position anyways?? up front like Frau or on the wing like Govou and Wiltord who were both converted

Stop quoting my sig......

It's sad to fall asleep. It separates people. Even when you're "sleeping together," you're all alone.

Left sided attacker.

I would like to see him an 3 man attack with himself, Wiltord or Govou and then either Frau or Nilmar

left sided attacker? so i suppose you mean a LEFT wing forward perfect for teams that play with 3 up front. One central forward and 2 wing forwards like most Dutch teams and now Chelsea.

But isn't he right-footed?

I think so, but he plays left side. Henry was the same.

Works best in a 3 man attack as I said.
