There's also the drum beats with the "ENGLAND" chant at the end.

And God Save the Queen

As a girl of largely German/English heritage, I feel allowed to say this . . .

My fav chant has to be "Two World Wars and One World Cup"

Heh. that became my favourite song for a bit out in Portugal.

Lots of fun singing it after a few Super Bocks.

Never heard GSTQ sung at any point other than the start of the match.

Rule Britannia on the other hand.... when will these people learn?

Ah, yes GSTQ is only sung at the beginning, but I wanted to make sure bracer wasn't referring to the national anthem when he asked for the "national team chant". Just wanted to address all aspects of the question.

"Keep St. George in my heart keep me English" has the unfortunate facet of being associated with the extreme racist right... The "no surrender to the IRA" bit in the chorus is not especially "sensitive" ( although I've always been perplexed as to why we English should be sensitive to the IRA) and really quite a yawn. I'd love this chant to be an acceptable chant for all England fans, with a change in the chorus target to be the opposition. About time decent people owned this song cos it's without par in my opinion.

He scores with his head,
and he scores with ********,
cos Wayne Rooney drinks Super Bock

Twas a good one out there.

I like "Keep St George in my heart", even with the second bit two it. I have heard GSTQ quite a few times during games, but hate the song.

Personally like Jerusalem, but it is hard to sing in large groups. My sister-in-law enjoyed the "Everyone who hates the Turks stand up" at the Stadium of Light, though maybe not very PC.

On odd occasion I've heard an impromptu rendition of GSTQ at the start of the second half. Whoever said they hate the song - its our national anthem ffs. Nothing gets me going quite like a home England International with the crowd belting out the national anthem; spine shivering stuff. If I had my way, anthem singers on the pitch would be banned in favour of just an instrumental guiding the crowd like they did in Japan '02...

The best England 'chant' has to be The Great Escape surely? Dur dur, dur dur dur dur dur, dur dur, dur dur dur dur dur dur dur... :)

Historically, Three Lions cant be beat.

Historically, Three Lions cant be beat. The best time GST'Q' was sung during a match was when Liverpool played at Wembey but it was GS our team! Even the Queen had to smile...or was it wind?
Prolly not a good time to bring it up but that stupid song needs dropping as the anthem.
Let's bring up "Land of Hope and Glory" for anthem again.

I'm all for "You'll Never Walk Alone".... :)
