This long overdue. Let's compile a list of useful links to African football. I'll start with a few:
African Soccer News (http://sportscheduler.co.sz/afsocnews.htm)
This site has many links to African football in general and to many nations in particular, especially English speaking countries and doubly especially South Africa. They also have listings of national team nicknames, updated standings of continental competitions and a link to on-line article of African Soccer magazine, whom they are affiliated with.
Soccerway.com (http://www.soccerway.com/africa/)
These guys regularly report on African soccer news especially when it has ties to England.
the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/africa/cup_of_nations/2322767.stm)
Of course these guys have a well organized African football site. They also aren't just focused on news that affects England either. They even have live updates of current ANC qualifier matches! This is the place to go if you need to know news now.

Muchas gracias for the info, Skip. We can always use another good link about football in Africa.
BTW, doesn't the South African broadcast company SABC have a good football-oriented site, either part of their site or one they sponsor? I think I stumbled across it once a while back.

I personally find this site useful,

They have an excellent soccer site, and also a good site for African news.

Ahhhhh South Africa, my favorite subject, SA probably, not definitely, is the most internet savvy country in Africa. There are literally dozens of soccer related sites and a couple of message boards too (though none as good as BS!). Here's a couple of the good ones:
SABC News (http://www.sabcnews.com/sport/soccer) SABC is the South African Broadcasting Corportation.
Kick off (http://www.kickoff.com/) is probably my favorite SA soccer magazine. They also report a lot on African football in general. At present it looks like they are revamping their internet site.
Supersoccer.com (http://www.supersoccer.co.za/) is part of Supersport and is probably the best SA soccer and sports website. They have a ton of African soccer stuff, loads of England football stuff, and easy links to their other SA-oriented sports pages (like Rugby, cricket, etc.) They also probably have the best message boards in SA.
Sportal.com (http://www.sportal.co.za/index.html?SCREEN=sport_1&sport_ID=2) is a third site to rival kick off and supersoccer.com. features from home, abroad and a message board to boot.
iol, or Independent On Line (http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=6&click_id=19) is a comprehensive news site that several SA newspapers use and not just for soccer. So often you click on a link at another site on some late-breaking news and chances are you'll get iol.
SAFA- the South African Football Association (http://www.safa.net/) has a nice website that is useful particularly for up[dates as SA tries again to get the WC in 2010. (BTW I like how 'soccer' and 'football' are used so often for each other in SA, but I digress.)

It is really a news and info site (reliable news on Salone is quite hard to find) but occassionally has football updates. Although since the guy who runs to site is based in the US (the peace corps has done well) football reports are sporadic but good when they appear. (BTW the US Embassy is far less supportive of SL football now)
