From the board that brought you the Michelle Lissel fan thread...and the Jeremy St. Louis fan thread...now comes...

...The Bobby McMahon fan thread!

So stop drooling over Swissel and talk about everybody's favorite Scot!

I'd be a bigger fan if I could understand what he was saying half the time. He seems to really know his stuff and the WSWR guys seem to have a ton of respect for him. When MLS Wrap was still MLS Wrap I said they needed to find a Peter Gammons type for the show. McMahon seems to fill that role quite well for their show.

Just to let you know that Bobby does lurk on these boards, or at least someone pretending to be him does! I made a post referencing something he said on the Report, and within a day or two I got a response from him or his impostor via PM. Since JS and others from FSC/FSW are on Big Soccer, it wouldn't surprise me if it is him. So shovel it on, guys.

The Monday & Friday editions are required viewing. He adds a lot, and his accent isn't really that bad. I've been to Scotland, and some of those people need closed-captioning in order to understand what they're saying. The FSW Report is a good show, but w/o Bobby it's like eating cereal without any milk on it.

I agree he is a great addition to the show, I record the editions he is on because he has a lot of knowledge of the game, and he doesn't annoyingly pronounce everything like Max Bretos!

BM is the man. He could be lying to me, I'd believe he knows soccer with his scotch accent.

The thing I like about Bobby McMahon is you can tell that he puts a lot of time into his research. He studies the leagues inside out and spends hours and hours to find complimentary information for his on-air time. I think Bobby should get his own radio show.

Here here! Bobby's the man. JSL and ML admitted that the 'Bobby days' are their favorite days on the show. The man just knows. IIRC, he has been offered jobs elsewhere(?), but chose to stick with us and feed our addiction. God bless him.

He's the only thing that keeps me watching the Report (or pretty much anything besides Man Utd or MLS games on FSC) now that I have GolTV.

Mondays and Fridays - FSC is a must - all because of Bobby McMahon. Love the sexy Scottish accent too. ;)

Yep, go out of my way to tape the Report on Mondays & Fridays. Think of him like a father, I do.

Bobby seemed to stumble over his words quite a bit on Monday...even the best have off days, I suppose.

I happened across this clip of Bobby's appearance last week on Newsworld, talking about the problems in Italian stadiums.

He doesn't say anything particularly notable (by his standards), but on a topic like this, there isn't much more to be said.

great clip man. he said plenty IMO. you can tell he knows what he's talking about because he doesn't stammer, doesn't say 'umm,' and he speaks well to a target audience that might not know very much about hooliganism. Nice that he mentioned that england is not the riotous ground it used to be.

Bobby has a good article up today on the battle to win promotion in to the Premiership. Four Championship teams, one shot at glory (http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/3602808)

Except he has a fact wrong. Leicester beat Derby in 1994. bolton beat Reading in 1995.
