Nobby Solano should have never ever been sold by NUFC imo. Best right winger to grace St Jame's Park since pfffffffft. A long time. I like Nobby. Always have and always will. There is some speculation in Newcastle that he is coming back.

Ps. Haway the lads.

Personally, Id like to see him back at St James Park and end his career there rather then Villa.

He was magic for us. Wore the NUFC shirt with pride. Didn't get into any trouble on the pitch, a little bit of trouble off it, but the less said about that the better imo. We only got 2.5 million for him aswell or something stupid like that and we didn't have a replacement for him. Classic.

thank dumbass Sir Bobby Robson for that "brilliant move". what an idiot. now NUFC has Nobby's replacement (Lee Bowyer) fighting and making an ass out of himself all over the place.

Yea he seemed happy at Newcastle. But I think its kinda stupid how Robson got pissed at him for wanting to go play for his NT. The man is going to retire in a couple of years and I think giving Newcastle a second chance wouldnt be a bad idea. After all, the fans love him over there.

Wasn't Sir Bobby Robson's fault though. His hands were tied behind his back.

Yeah, we all have Sir Bobby Robsonofabiitch to thank for that. And to think that a few months after that, he himself got the boot.

Tied behind his backs? Sorry, but thats not true. The man always complained that Solano went too many times to Peru to defend his country... just look how stupid that sounds. Solano basically left because he had enough of the crap that Robson was giving him.. simple as that.

It was Robson that hated, I mean absolutely hated when Solano went to play for Peru in WCQ. He mentioned it a lot of times. He hated the fact of losing Solano and sometimes didn't want to let go of Nobby even if FIFA rules said so. I blame Robson.

Sir Bobby Robson was the NUFC manager and he wanted all the players playing there hearts out for the lads. Nobby missed some important games. He went missing for weeks playing for Peru, then he had jet lag when he returned to Newcastle.

Certainly do. We appreciate players that give everything for NUFC. He will get a standing ovation when he plays against us, then Boooed every time he touches the ball. Classic.

Sir Bobby Robson is a club manager of NUFC, well was. He didnt like loosing a player of Nolberto Solonos quality for sometimes a Month. Cant blame him for wanting the best for NUFC.

Then he has to deal with it (FIFA rules and international duty) He didn't appreciate Nobby that much. In the offseason he signed Robert and Bowyer showing Solano that Robson didn't want him anymore, so Solano left.

A month? I don't recall the WCQ being that long like a month. 5 days is the requirement for FIFA under FIFA rules and 3 days under normal call-up. The only month he would miss would be during Copa America and it's the offseason in Europe. Robson had to accept the fact that international duty exists.

He would go missing for weeks and weeks, thats why Sir Bobby Robson didnt like him playing for Puru.

Mel's got a point about him missing some games. But do you really blame him for wanting to play for his country? Everytime I read on Soccernet the Solano "I will never stop playing for Peru" lines my heart filled with pride. Conversly I heard that he played his heart out for NUFC when he was there and not jet-lagged/injured (dont know for sure because I never saw any Solano-Newcastle games)

Not a chance. I would play for my Country no matter what.

Thats what football is all about sunshine.

I met him once. After he scored the winner against Leeds i think in December 2002. My 5 year old Daughter is a member of the junior Magpies. They had a Christmas party in the Sir John Hall stand. Great carry on for children. Nobby, Lua Lua, Olly Bernard and Robbie Elliott where signing Autographs for the kids. I went up and got all the lads to sign my Daughters Autograph book and her little 2 year old NUFC shirt, which is proudly hanging on my wall. Solono rocks in my house.

Dude you know as well as I do that that's just an excuse for that old ******** to get his way. At what point was Solano "gone for WEEKS"? When? I'd like to know that because the only times he left for the national team he was only gone 10 days at most to play 2 WCQ games. Besides that, summer tournaments like the Copa America where they last a whole month you're gone during the SUMMER, when the leagues in Europe arent running.
Come on man, lets face it and lets state the truth. Who in the world is going to accept Robson's whining and biitching? I'll tell you something, if it was a brazilian, the brazilian would just tell that old fart to go ******** himself because playing for the "verdeamarelha" is sacred. So why can't Solano do the same like anybody good enough to play for their country do? Why can't he play for his national team? Hell, I remember times when Solano even gave up and wouldn't fly to Peru for friendlies... that I would understand, they're only friendlies. But to miss an important a World Cup Qualfying game its just absurd!
I loved watching Newcastle and I loved watching Solano play for Newcastle... but if it meant telling Robson to go ******** his mum in order for Solano to "be set free" then i'm glad Solano did what he did. How can you blame a guy, stiffle a guy, threaten with pay cuts, threaten him with bench time, threats all over the place... when all he wants to do is play for his country.... tell me, would you work in that kind of situation? ....Exactly!
Anyways, Robson is no longer part of Newcastle, hence Newcastle's interest in acquiring back Solano. And you know what? I like Newcastle when Robson is not there, so if Solano ever goes back, it will be with pure joy from us Peruvian fans and Solano himself.
